Show T UXTAll BASIN STANDARD. November Richens E. Ervin Arnold (Dick) Richens. age 83, returned home to his Heavenly Father, October 30, 2000, Sandy, L. Utah, after a abort illness. Dick was born the 10th of 15 children to Henry Thomaa Richens & Catherine Arthema Mott on April 9, 1917, Arcadia, Utah. Married Adelaide Margaret Fish November 28, 1938. Later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple December 12, 1963. They were blessed with eight children. He loved to farm on the Ranch where he was bum and raised. There he was truly at home. He also loved hunting and fishing, lie laid the main sewer lines in the Salt Lake Valley with hia brothers, some trenches near 60 ft. deep, risking his life. He was a very good Equipment Operator. He had a friendly personality. and always had a joke nr riddle to tell. He was alway willing to help people. He will I e with us in our thoughts, and wewil! iiw him dearly. Jensen, age 93, of Roosevelt, pawed away November 1, 2000 at hia home. He waa born May 6, 1907 in Fountain Green, Utah to Neils Cornelius Jensen and Lizia (Eliza) Christine Anderson Jensen. Hr married Elvida iVeda) Cox August 30, 1934. she preceded him in death April 25, 1996. He graduated from Snow College and was an all star basketball player when Snow went undefeated. He went on to BYU and graduated in Physical Education. He played professional basketball two yean for the US Mines. His high school coaching career led him to several high schools, such as Moroni High. Mount Pleasant High, and The Fielding Academy in Montpelier, Idaho. Lawrell's career as a principal began in Paris. Idaho and followed him to Roosevelt. He was the principal for Roosevelt High and Roosevelt Junior High. Lawrrll was the principal at the junior high for 21 years until he retired in 1972. Lawrrll was very civic minded, and served in many local and state o fTices He served as president ofthe Lions Club. Chamber of Commerce, and waa on the dty council. He was the state chairman fur the Utah State Division of Aging and Adult Service. He was chairman for the state AARP board, and was a key player in securing funding for Roosevelt 'a Crossroads Centennial Senior Center. Lawrrll has received numerous swards from various organizations, which wu greatly appreciated by his family and himself. In addition to the civic service. La wrell served in the LDS Church in many different capacities. He loved horses and always had at least one or two to ride. He loved gardening and shared hia harvest with his neighbors. He also had an insurance business and a farm with some cattle. Lawrrll is survived by sons, Carl ( Debra) Jensen, of Littleton. CO. and Robert (Linda) Jensen, of Ogden; $ grandchildren. great grandchildren, and a brother, Ray Jensen, ofTifton, GA. He was preceded in death by brothers, Vcm. and Dean Jensen, and a sister, Cora Madsen. Funeral service bold Saturday, November 4. 2090, 1 1:00 AM. at the Roosevelt LDS 5thWard Chapel. Burial in the Roosevelt Memorial Park under direction oftheliullinger Mortuary. Memorial services were held Saturday, Nov. 4, 2000. 11am., at the Willow Creek 7 Ward. Interment at the Mountain View Memorial l a gift from the members snd prizes were given to Barbara Thorne, Teresa Harmston. and Jennn Yack. . Card of Thanks Our Mom, Erna E. Murray, had lots of great friends and loved living here in the Uintah Bain. To all those that showed expressions of friendship, kindness and love we are extremely grateful. She was bom May 13. 194 1 to Ivan and Clara Chegup Duncan in Fort Duchesne. She married Louis Russell Rusty Reed Oct. 1963 in Vernal. Lillian attended BIT and graduated with a bachelors in Elementary Education. She taught for almost thirty years for the IT e Tribe and for Duchesne County. She enjoyed being with her family, attending pow wows, and traveling. She was a member of the NaUve American Church and the St Elizabeth's Episcopal Church in Whiterocks.
