Colby Knight will fill the poait ion ofBrian Berrong, science teacher and Football coach at Duchesne High School; Jan Kuns was hired as the new math and physics teacher to fill David Cheney's position at DHS and Jimie Nielsen, music teacher at DHS will be replaced by Ginger York. By Cheryl Sleckam In just one week school will be beck in session in Duchesne County Schools, and Uintah County District has just begun. With the new year there have been a few changes in staffing for both districts. The shuffling of a few Duchesne County School District administrators oocurredjust as school ended last May. Carol Parrish, East Elementary Principal was transferred to Thompson School and was replaced by Kevin Heaton, principal at Altamont Elementary. Larry Henry, Special Education Director in the district, has been transferred to Altamont Elementary as principal. Former Assistant Director over Elementary Special Education and school psychologist, David Stevens has accepted Henry's position. Rex Wilcox, a former district employee who has been at North Summit Elementary in Cidevdle, was named as the new Assistant Director as Steven's replacement. John Osborn, former principal at Thompson School, has been transferred to Roosevelt Junior High in a Special Education position to replace Kathy Cochrane, and David Brotherson, a former technology teacher, will fill the place of Brent Fieldsted at Union High School as he steps up as principal due to the retirement of Lloyd Burton last spring. Altamont High School Principal, Joe Haslem was granted a leave of absence by the school board andanew principal is being sought to fill his position. Other board approved changes that have taken place are: Sondra Perriton, as first grade teacher for Duchesne Elementary, as an additional staff member, Sherri Lynn Powell as kindergarten half day teacher to replace Maty Ann Hall, who just retired; Cassandra White, teaching at East as well filling Marie Brennan's former position as a third grade teacher; RussNielsen as teacher at Myton Elementary (MES), replacing retired teacher Donna Pitt; Judy Henry who will be replacing Sherri Lynn Powell at MES, who transferred to East Elementary.
