Nadine observed the student body and talked to individual students. She found that at UVSC in particular the students were "great, they were receptive they had higher values in scholastic desire. Nadine has lived outside of the Basin most of her life now, however she recounted her earhr history. She was married just after high school to Lloyd Horrocks of Neola. The couple moved to Sandy, Utah where Nadine completed course work and found a job with NASA as an electronics specialist. She worked for Continental Bank, Cottonwood Hospital and National She became actively involved in politics. She took part in the National Young Democrats Convention and was later nominated as a delegate. Lloyd and Nadine had three children and later divorced. In 1983, Nadine and her second husband Charles "Frank," moved to Oakley and pursued his life dream of "having a ranch on the river. Frank passed away in 1995. Since living in Summit County Nadine has been actively involved in the program helping young people' in sheep ranching, sewing and into porcelain dnllmaking. I always wanted to have a career on paper, but I thought why should someone my age take up the pace in class? I'll leave it for a younger person. That why I didn't do it, thats why I gave a scholarship (to UVSC) to give them the chance l desired so much," Nadine remarked concerning the honorary degree. Nadine Fausett Gillmor now lives in Oakley, Utah, (near Kamas) aha teaches porcelain doll making, a hobby that grew through helping young ladies with projects has turned into a part-tim- e business. Nadine said that the academic honor and appointments came through an endowment she made in behalf of Utah State Univeraity for 1100,000 and Utah Valley State College for 1 100,000. The funds are held in trust and scholarships may be granted from the interest earned by the endowment. According to Nadine after her husband Charles passed away she was looking for places to put their money to use. She visited a few college throughout Utah.
