Kids tell all when it comes to cooking Tom Turkey By Amanda Jenkins Thanksgiving is just around cor ner, and what could be more important than preparing the perfect turkey for your Thanksgiving dinner? There are several different ways of cooking a turkey from frying it to smoking it, and of course, putting it in the oven to roast. Altamont Elementary kindergarten students told us how their mothers fix a turkey, and what it takes to create the perfect bird. Some students insisted that their families do not fix a turkey on Thanksgiving, and choose to eat such creations as noodley soup and strawberry pie instead. One child even commented that she and her mother make stuffing and put white frosting on it to help it stick to the turkey when it goes inside the bird. Depending on which child you talk to, it either takes several hours or just a few minutes until the Thanksgiving dinner is done, but they all agree that it doesn't take too many degrees to cook it at before it will be ready. TURKEY HERE-J- ake NO Stevenson says that his mother does not cook a turkey on Thanksgiving. He says that they have noodley soup instead. He said that his dad cooks a turkey sometimes, and he puts it in the oven for one minute at ten and Rosie Bess say that their mom bakes PERFECT EVER YTIME-Ro- xie the best turkey by putting some brown stuff on it, and then cooking it in the oven for eleven minutes at IS degrees. Sorenson and NlcKayla Thacker are a A LITTLE CONFUSED-Ama- lia little uncertain how their mothers prepyv the turkey. Amalia says that her mother usually cooks the turkey in the oven on very low heat for three hours. McKayla says that her family does not really like turkey, they enjoy strawberry pie and beef stroganoff instead. Leave something to wiith for, so as not to be miserable from every happiness. Baltaoar Grarian MASTER CHEFS Robby Wood and Tyrel Brinkerhoff say their mothers make the best turkeys. Robby's mother takes the turkey and sticks a long and half-col- d stick in it She then puts the turkey in an oven that is half-hand cooks it for ten hours. Tyrel says his mother cooks her turkey on a glass cooking sheet for eight hours at 7 degrees. ot Scout leaders complete Basic Training in Duchesne These and other trained scout leaders are now eligible to attend a Wood Badge course, which is a week long scout leader training. designed to help them become better leaders ofthe boys in their troops.
