Simmons, Tridell, will celebrate his 85th birthday on April 23 with his family. He was ban in a little log houae in Charleston, Utah to George Ed and Elsie Fern Marrott Simmons on April 23, 1914 and is the oldest of 11 children. When he was 2 years old his parents moved to Roosevelt, where his family operated Smarts Dairy Farm . Farrell remembers going with his father in horse and buggy to deliver milk, cheese, and butter to customers. In 1925 the family moved to Deep Creek north of Lapoint to homestead. Here Farrell helped to clear the sagebrush and build ditches on the land. When he waa 15 he quit school to herd sheep for his father. He learned to play the baqjo while herding sheep and later shared his talent by providing music for dane- - In 1934 his family sold their sheep and moved to TYidell where Farrell began working on the Moon Lake Dam for 60s an hour. He married Sarah Helen Harvey on Dec. 11, 1939 in the Salt Laka farm in Temple. They bought TYidell and went into the dairy business. Farrell also combined grain, baled hay and chopped corn for people in Whiterocks, Lapoint, and 60TH WEDDING ANKIVERSARY-Six- ty years ago on April 18. 1939 Floyd and OraLabnim were married in Hayden, Utah at the home of the brides parents, Erastus and Arillia Bastion. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. They were honored at a surprise openhouse at the home of their son Clark and his wife Jennett on April 9. They have two other sons Douglas (Janet) of Sl George and Randy (Judy) of San Diego. They have twelve grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. They've lived the past eight years in St. George and still miss their basin friends. S. .
