Show U.S. Congressional District 1 Gerard A. No Arthus photo submitted Libertarian Beierlein, 40, moved to Utah when his father was stationed at Hill Air Force Base in 1969. He married Ogden native, Sandra Grow Beierlein. They have two young-adu- lt daughters, Stephanie and Stacie. Beierlein is a financial consultant and Second Vice President at Solomon Smith Barney. He is certified by the State Treasurer's Office to offer investment counsel to Utahs Public Treasurers. Beierleins recent political achievement was service on the Riverdale City Council. He is on the Board of Trustees for St Benedicts Foundation and is Chairman of their Finance Committee. He is a member of the Weber School District Foundation. James V. Hansen Republican I am honored to serve Utahs First District in Congress, and am proud of the progress the Republican Congress has made by achieving a balanced federal budget for the first time since 1969, cutting taxes, and in turning greater control back to state and local governments. My goals for the next session of Congress include strengthening our national defense against further deep cuts, keeping Hill AFB viable, maintaining environmentally-soun- d multiple uses of public lands, preventing the draining of Lake Powell, ensure transportation funding for Utah projects, paying down the national debt, stabilizing Social Security and Medicare, and income tax reform. 8 4 |
