The Children's Museum of Utah will reach out to every school district in the State ofUtah to conduct innovative instruction in elementary chemistry to 5th grade students. This mind's-o- n hand's-ooutreaeh program developed by TCMU is funded by the State, Office of Education to assist elementary educators and to enhance the state's science curriculum. In addition to conducting experiments, TCMU provides teachers with preparatory packets and follow-u- p materials to promote positive attitudes towards science. Students will have the opportunity to conduct actual experiments under the supervision of a Science Specialist. The experiments are designed to familiarize students with chemical reactions and physical changes, and to help them recognize that chemistry is an intrical part of everyday life. TCMU is located at 840 North 300 West in Salt Lake City. Admission to the public is $3. Employees from Zions Bank's Duchesne, Roosevelt and Vernal branch locations will be painting the home of Norma Jenkins in Zions Bank will hold its eighth annual Paint-a-Tho- n June 1 Paint-a-Tho- through June 6 in communities throughout Utah and Idaho. More than 1,500 Zions Bank employee volunteers are scheduled to scrape, prep and paint 39 homes in this yearb Zions Bank 125th Anniver- sary Paint-a-Tho- n. . This year's event has been named 125-ye- ar CONCENTRATION --Three Roosevelt Middle School 6th graders study their artwork carefully to make sure its just how they want it. Wildlife and nature photography workshop Interested in taking great pictures of wild animals, flowers or landscapes? Heres your chance. The public is invited to spend a few hours and see some great photography, learn how to take better photos and talk about the finer points of wildlife and nature photography with Lynn Chamberlain and Ron Stewart, nature photographers and Regional Information and Education Managers for the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources (UDWR). The photographers will hold a Wildlife and Nature Photography Workshop as part of the UDWRs Wildlife Heritage Program on Friday and Saturday, June 12 and 13, 1998. The first night of the workshop is a lectureslide show presentation where the photographers wil talk about camera technique, equipment, seeing the light, and composition. Early the next morning, participants are invited to practice what they have learned during a field session at a good wildlifenature photography location. Lynn Chamberlain, the primary presenter, has been photographing the great outdoors for more than 20 years. His love for photography and nature led him to obtain four-yeadegrees in both photography, from Brooks Institute, and biology, from Southern Utah University. His photo credits can be seen in books, magazines, newspapers and calendars and his photos have been used by the National Park Service, U.S. Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management and several state wildlife agencies. He also conducts photo workshops, does the photo tips section for the T.V. show Wild Utah and is the managing editor for Wildlight, an online nature photography magazine. Ron Stewart has also been out with a camera for over 20 years. He has a bachelors Degree in Biology from the University of Utah and Masters in Communications, Journalism emphasis, from Utah State University. His wildlife photography has been published in magazines, newspapers, calendars and brochures as well as in agency publications and visitor centers for the UJ5. Forest Service, Dinosaurland Travel Board and state wildlife agencies. The photography workshop is open to tiie public. The lectureslide show will begin at 6:30 p.m., Friday, June 12, on the second floor of the State and County Building. 152 East 100 North in Vernal. Wild life Heritage Certificate holders are admitted free while others will be asked for a $5 donation for the Friday nights lectureslide show. The Saturday shoot will be reserved for thpo holding Wildlife Heritage Certificates. Also included in this years introductory packet to the Wildlife Heritage Program is a Wildlife Viewing Guide, a years subscription to the Wildlife Review magazine, a guide to feeding Utahs birds, a wildlife decal and the Wildlife Habitat Calendar. Note: a Wildlife Habitat Authorization ($5.25) is required for all licence and certificate buyers over 14 years old. Duchesne. As in past years, the homes were selected with the assistance of state housing agencies, community organizations and local churches. The home locations extend from Logan to St. George and from Roosevelt to Blanding in Utah; and from Bonners Ferry to Montpelier and from Weiser to Rigby in Idaho. In addition to painting, Zions employees will provide yard cleanup, pruning, mowing, planting, and repairs as needed by the homeowner. The cost for all paint and supplies is contributed by Zions Bank. The Sherwin Williams Company provides the paint and supplies at a discounted price. Kaye is an avid duck hunter, who will lay behind a blind in frozen water and weeds to get a good shot When he brings his trophies home they go right in the freezer with the TV dinners, where they stay unti they can be mounted for display. Julie loves to play baseball, and go scuba diving, and says if they were ever to go on a dream vacation it would be on water - where she could scuba dive and Kaye could hunt for water foul. The Seeley's do enjoy camping together and ail of the outdoor recreating that goes with it.
