Roosevelt Christian Assembly opens wide its doors and in the name of the Lord Jesus says WELCOME! We begin each Lord's Day with Sunday School classt' for all ages at 9:30 a.m. followed by worship at 10:30 a.m. We meet again at 6:30 p.m. for fellowship and die Word. Young people arc invited to our activities on Thursday nights at 7:00 p.m. You are welcome to come and be a part of what God is at Roosevelt Christian doing Assembly. Sunday mornings begin with Sunday school for all ages at 9:45 a.m. and Worship service at 1 1:00 a.m. . On the first Sunday of the month we hold visitation at 7:00 p.m. If you or anyone you know would like a visit from our church please call. Wednesday night we have Bible Study and Prayer Meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday is Girls In Action for girls grades 6 at 3:10 p.m led by Janis Hadlock. Thursday evening is Youth Jam at 7 p.m. All boys and led by Kim girls grades 2, Maykttt. We also have a Womens Fellowship cm the first Saturday of each month at 11 a.m., led by Donclda Cochran. Miss Krysd Cobell of Roosevelt has been selected to attend The National Yoiirig Leaders Conference in Washington, D.C. The National Young Leaders Conference is a unique leadership development program for high school students who have demonstrated leadership and scholastic merit. potential KiySti, a junior at Union High School will be among 350 National Scholars outstanding attending the conference from across America. Kcrilyn Lowe Johnson, daughter of Dallas and Suana Lowe has been hired as part time faculty member at BYU. She will be teaching Private Voice (Music 160). She also has 30 private students of her own. In addition die teaches a singing and performing' group in Sandy, and a Utah called "Encore" performing group in Pleasant Grove called "Young Altitude". She and her husband and daughter live in Pleasant Grove, Utah. Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, a heritage organization, held their District Convention in Roosevelt, Sept. 21 at the Senior Citizen Center. Approximately 100 DUP members from Duchesne and Uintah County gathered for instruction, entertainment, and food. Marvclla Wilkerson, Duchesne County president, with the help of LaRcne Laris, 2nd vice president, and Phyllis Ames, 1st vice president organized the meeting. Various items of heritage were on display. Entertainment was pioneer songs sung by Alisa Muir and Talone Ivy of Duchesne, accompanied by Phyllis Obcrhansley of Ncola. Uintah County DUP President, Alta Winward, reported on the increasing number of camps in Uintah County, the new plaques they arc placing around the temple grounds, and the Him they have produced. She also reported on the growing DUP museum in Vernal. Shar Lynn Benson, captain of Roosevelts Camp reported that their camp has grown 3()0 in the past year. The need and problems in gelling a museum started in Roosevelt were also disrugwri including reports on meetings with Roosevelt City and the Duchesne county Hospital and the reading of minutes from the hospital. Phyllis Day, secretary of Duchesne's Theodore Camp reported on their and how they building made money by renting the building for local needs. President Wilkerson reported that Lily Wimmer had been released as county secretary and Alice Holladay was installed. Mary Johnson, National First Vice President, and Mary Harris, Nation Lesson Leader, were in Roosevelt to give awards and instruction. The next meeting of the Roosevelt Camp will be held at the Frontier Grill, Thursday, OcL 17 at 1:30 p.m. Guest Speaker will be Joan Fisher, former Mrs. Utah and Mrs. America. She will be speaking for her mother-in-laLouise Larsen Fisher, author of Roosevelts most famous book. Family Courageous. Prospective truck drivers can now obtain their commercial drivers license without having to leave the area. The cost of the long course is one of the least expensive in the state. Jared Lee, son of Brent and Michele Lee has returned home from the Ireland Dublin Mission.
