Including Pianos Built By Baldwin, Wurlitzer, Young Chang, Samick, Technics, Korg, Lowery, With no new tiger muekie fry available for stocking, the Division of Wildlife Resources has been farced to enact an emergency closure to the possession of tiger muskellunge (muskie) by anglers at Pineview Reservoir. The closure was effective May 29. Tiger muskie are a cross between a male northernpike and a female muskellunge. The male northern pike milt needed to i far tiger muskie is easy to obtain, but the eggs from the female muskellunge arent These eggs come from Pennsylvania, and due to weather factors, capturing muskies there has not been easy. As soon as adequate numbers of tiger muskie can be restocked into Pineview Reservoir, the restriction will be lifted. Tiger muskie were introduced into Pineview Reservoir seven years ago, primarily to be used as a management tool to control of small exploding numbers crappie and perch. Since their introduction, tiger muskie have admirably worked to increase the overall growth of the reservoirs panfish. Now, the average ersppie and perch are a (till one inch longer at maturity than they were five years ago. At the same time tiger muskie, otherwise known as waterwolves or swimming torpedoes, have become a coveted trophy. Thats one factor that led to the harvest closure. "We havent been able to get our agular stocking of these tigers over the past several years and we are not getting any again this year," said Brad Schmidtz, manager aquatics for the Divisions Northern Region. "That to the Division for this emergency cloeure. We need to retain the Mg muskiee that are in here to keep pressure on the smaller panfish. We dont want to be set back four or five wars and have to start over again. If anglers were allowed to continue taking our larger fish, over 30 inches, that could happen." Anglers can still fish for these eating machines, but they must i return them immediately. Obviously, remaining these minimal impact on fish will help keep fish around reinforcements arrive. until and Chickering Stewart's Parking Lot AM TO 8 PM MONQAY, AUGUST 26-- 10 TUESDAY, AUGUST 27 10 AM TO 8 PM - Look For The tfli3H!f2E Circus Tent and The Giant Baldwin Truck MU I sn WMm |
