Hanke replaces Dan Lunt, who left to coach basketball at Payson High School. The 9th grade football team will also be coached by Hanke. He said, "Coaching the football team has helped me get acquainted with the Union students and discover what a great work attitude they have. I have been overwhelmed with their attitude and effort" When asked to comment on his style of play, Hanke commented, "I like an uptempo game, and the power game where we run a lot of low post offense with the kqy to it being having good size.
