Theyll be leaving before long to spend the winter. Hopes sister, Helen Tucker, Vista, California, passed away about a week ago. Blake and Valoye Esauk went down to attend her services. Valoye Esauks brother passed away in Roosevelt. He was Howard Renolds. They came from Las Vegas to attend his funeral in Roosevelt Cecil and Carol Hanberg flew to Conn, to visit with their daughter, Butler, and family. They visited with their son, Jeff, and family. They got acquainted with a new grandbaby. They were gone for a week. They said the leaves were out of this world for gold color. Jane Farnsworth had gall bladder surgery at the Duchesne County Hospital in Roosevelt. Mikel Murphy had back surgery October 27 at the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake. This will be his sixth surgery he has had for a job related injury. Bettie Fitzgerald and KeriBtin Hamelton and two children, Salt Lake, stayed over night with Christin Nation. While they were out, they attended the birthday party that was held for Virgie Murphy. They returned home Sunday. Doyle and CJ. Lisonbee, Jerry and Sherry Lisonbee, Jimmie and Lisa Lisonbee, all of their families and Jeanne and Travis Beck stead were all at Roock Creek deer hunting. John and Patte Barton flew to Conn, to attend a conference. They were gone for four days. When they were coming home, Patte called her mother, Marvell a Wilkerson, who was tending their children, and said they would fly over and buzz them, which they did. Patte called from the plane. Kennith and Georgia Morrell, Hyland, were out Sunday and spent three days visiting with his sister, Thelda Halstead: Kennith and Georgia have built them a new home in Hyland. They moved from St George. Christine Nation has had her daughter, Collene Nielsen, Las Vegas, and her friend, John Bard, Richman, spend several days with her mother, helping get some winter projects done. The sisters are Sister Matel and Sister Hickcok-s- he came here from Georgia. George and Edythe Marett were in Price Sunday, October 25. They both talked at a nephews mission farewell. He is the son of Edyths sister, Elaine Goodrich. The nephew is going to Finland to serve. Laura Murphy, wife of Verl, Myton, mother of Mikel Murphy, Duchesne, was operated on at the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake for a triple bypass. Eric Wilde, Duchesne, son of Alton and Sue Wilde, a 12 year old boy, went fishing last week in the Strawberry River and caught a nine pound brown, and it was 23 12 inches long. He said he caught it on a grasshopper. Vera Johnson, Arcadia, is in the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake. She had open heart surgery Tuesday, 738-553- 1. October 27. R.G. Ross, Arcadia, has spent several days in the Duchesne County Hospital in Roosevelt. He has a blood clot in his leg. Terry Halladay and his sister, Judy Shepard, Bridgdand, lost their father, Joseph Halladay. His funeral was held in Sandy Monday, October 26. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Brinkerhoff have moved into the older home of Jerry and Lois Goodrich. They have four children. Thelma and Shirley Price traveled to Nebraska this week to visit Shirleys son and family. While they are gone, they will also visit Nauvoo and many historical rites. Joleen Huber, Salt Lake, and children are staying in Tridell for some time while Mrs. Huber attends school at the UBATC in Roosevelt She is studying to become an R.N. She will be remembered as Joleen Wallace. Joleen travels home on the weekend to be with her husband. Margaret Elison and Isola to a D.U.P. were meeting held Thursday at Mrs. Elisons home. He was born January 7, 1924 in Whiterocks to Joseph Orvel and Eva Myrtle Smith Hoopes. He married Loa Nyberg in 1946, and she died in 1979. He married Mary Lynne Hancock December 18, 1981 in Provo. He lived his entire life in White-rock- s. He served for two and a half years in the 4th Marine Division during WWII. He graduated from Al terra High School, was an active farmer and rancher and drove school bus for the Uintah School District for 28 years, retiring in 1985. He was an active member of the LDS Church,' serving as a branch president in the Whiterocks Branch. He had a deep love for the Indian people with whom he worked and lived all his life.
