"The President of the United States has appropriately proclaimed April 1991, as a national period of thanksgiving for the end of the war in the Middle East," the Church leaders said. "We heartily endorse his proclamation and encourage all to express their gratitude through prayer and other appropriate activities. "We are thankful for the resolution of the war and it is our fervent hope and prayer that all nations involved win work in concert for a lasting peace, the First Presidency said. Florence Jcsscn Jessen celebrates 80th birthday Verona Goodrich Goodrich honored The family of Florence Jessen gathered to honor her on the occasion of her eightieth birthday, anniversary at the home of a son, Gary Jessen in Altonah on March The family of Verona Winkler Goodrich is honoring her, on her 24, 1991. Fun, food 80th birthday. Verona was bom March 28, 1911, in a small house in Roosevelt. On December 23, of 1933 she married Lee Goodrich and they have made their home in Bluebell. She is the mother of three sons: Bruce, Ron and Gary, all of Blue- bell. Verona retired as a school teacher after teaching for 32 years. She has been active in many church callings. She has been a primary teacher for over fifty years. She has 24 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and soon to be 27.
