The prqject waa undertaken to satisfy part of the requirements of Eagle Scout rank. Part of the structures were placed in Sweetwater Canyon and part were placed in South Canyon, both located in the Book Cliffs area on lands administered by the Vernal District of the Bureau of Iuid Mansgement. : Some structures were made steel poets and wire and the others , made from wood and sagebrush and are designed to alow down water runoff and to build ups oil sediment behind the structures which tends to partially reclaim the eroded atreambed. The Sweet water canyon is one of the Vernal Districts riparian demonstration areas and this project ia only one of downs of Scout and District prqjects designed to have a positive effect on the overall riparian reclamation. But mors are needed if the stop is to be reinstated next summer. Remaining dates for the stop are July 23, and August 6 and 20.
