Coby Jenkins led off for Rooeevelt with a walk, and a single by Scott Harrison plus a bunt by David Sims loaded up the bases. Mike Larsen singled in Jenkins and then Labrum .ripped a pitch over the fence for a mighty grand slam. Labrum knew the ball was a grand el am for sure as he watch the ball sail over the fence before he began hie home run trot. Rooeevelt continued its attack with singles by Mike Sather, Adam Gutt and Brett Stubbs to once again load up the bases. Sather scored on a wild pitch and Gurr and Stubbs added two more rune. Grand Junction ended the inning when its left fielder made a grand throw to the plate, which nailed Jenkins for the third out. However, Grand Junction went down in order in the top of the seventh inning. The Grand Junction crew grabbed an early 0 lead, but Rooeevelt scored five rune in the third inning to take a 2 lead, Labrum doubled in Harrison with Roosevelts first run and then Sather knocked in Larsen ' and Labrum with a double for a 2 Roosevelt advantage. Its a beautifiil pot for a picnic, the trail is well marked and not steep, and the fishing in this stretch of the river is excellent You can drive from Roosevelt to the end of the road in leas than an hour, and the four mile hike takes about an hour and a half. The main drawing card this time of year is, ife twenty degrees cooler there than it ie hem in Rooeevelt The bridge was built many years ago to enable herds of domestic sheep accees acroes the Uintah River to the high country above by the local American Legion crew was a complete adventure in the inning, but the mystery was solved as the running misplay resulted in a run being scored by the Roosevelt team. Larsen led off with a double and Labrum singled. Sather reached first base when the pitcher failed to arrive at the bag in time. A single by Pederson knocked in Larsen with the tie breaking run at but Pederson headed to second base after he touched first. However, he discovered much to his surprise that second base was occupied by teammate, Sather. Pederson put on a mad daah to first base and in all the confusion Labrum scored Roosevelts seventh run and Pederson was safe at first. Grand Junction came bade on the very next play to nail both Sather and Pederson for an inning ending doubleplay. Gurr hit the ball to the shortstop and instead of going to first base the infielder tagged Sather and farced Pederson at second. A fly 6-- ball out ended the inning. The Grand Junction crew narrowed the Rooeevelt lead to one run at 6 when they scored a run on a dropped fly ball by the Roosevelt second baseman, but a perfect throw from home plate to second base by catcher Larsen nailed a runner at second base to get Rooeevelt out ofjam and give them the momentum for an eight run inning that put the game out of reach for the Colorado bunch. 7-- timber line, but for the past twenty yean it has been used only by sportsmen on ' their way to the ; Chain Lakes, Atwood Baain or Printer Baain.
