These include the NOTICE OF ELECTION Greendale Junction ana, the Carter CreekBurnt Creek area, and die LodgepoleSheep Creed Canal area.. All of the areas consist primarily of bug killed ponderasa and lodgepole pine. The emphasis in each area would be to salvage the dead and dying trees affected by the mountain pine beetle and to provide a variety of other benefits. Possible benefits may include greater vegetative and wildlife diversity, an increase in productivity, an improvement of the long term visuals of each area, providing commodity products such as poles, props, poets, commercial and personal use firewood and lumber. If implemented, the salvage of this timer would also have a positive economic impact within the local economies. Some short term impacts may also be expected such as wildlife displacement, temporary road construc Notice is hereby given that a regular election of the Johnson Water District, specifically Precinct 44 (Pleasant Valley), will be held on Wednesday, the 6th day of December 1989 for the purpose of electing one trustee to fill the vacancy of the trustee whose term of office expires the first Monday in January, 1990. The trustee to be voted for will be from Precinct 4, and only those registered voters residing in FVccinct 4 may vote for the candidate from that Precinct. However, other proposals may be included based on the responses received. All alternatives considered by the interdisciplinary teams for these projects will be consistent with the current Ashley National Forest Land Management Plan, and the land allocations described in the plan. If the resulting decision is to salvage these timber stands, it is anticipated that they would be included as a portion ofthe Ashley National Forest, Flaming Gorge District timber sale program for fiscal year 1990. They were established in community "store-fro- nt settings and staffed with counselors who were, themselves, Veitnam veterans. Their mission was the same than as now: seek out veterans suffering the recurring emotional and mental aftermath of their war experiences; provide therapeutic counselling, and network them with the services necessary to their successful readjustment to civilian life. We"re learned a lot about Vietnam veterans and poet traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) during the last 10 years, said team leader Simons. Weve learned that PTSD is real, that it affects the lives of a significant number of veterans yet today, end that it is treatable. Today the VA operates 196 vet centers throughout the county. Through their direct ties with VA medical centers and cooperative links with community agencies, they offer Vietnam veterans direct counselling and other psychological services and access to an array of health care, vocational, educational and crisis intervention services. "This past year Salt Lake City and Provo combined, have counseled 871 area veterans. Since the opening of the vet centers in Utah we have seen over 6,000 veterans and their "significant others, aid team leader Simone. Since the program began 10 years ago, vet centers have seen more than 700,000 veterans and family members. Among activities planned for the November 9 men house is a showing by a local Vietnam vet- eran artist, whose paintings will be on display at the vet center. Then will also be a 10x20 display depicting the Vietnam war which is being donated to the VAMedical Center in Salt Lake. Local elected officials and state congressional delegatee have been cordially invited. We hope to see a big turnout at the open house, said center team leader Simone. "Everyone is invited. Especially welcome are Vietnam veterans and their fami- lies.
