Orinda Gee received a phone call Wednesday morning reporting that George Marian, Blanding, had been rushed to the Utah Valley Hospital where it is reported that he is suffering from Lukemia. They are starting chemotherapy. Ruby Thomas will be spending a few days in the Duchesne County Hospital this week while they are doing some tests on her. Jackie Sims has been brought home from the hospital in Ogden where she had surgery three times. They have to take her back some time this week to see how she is doing. Her parents, Bill and Cloe Shumway, East Carbon, have been staying with her and her family during this time. Ronald and Carol Liddell were in The Duchesne American Legion and Auxiliary building is available for any community function, by calling Phyllis Day, The American Legion served over 100 family and friends at their building after Troy Baileys funeral Jan. 9. Fifteen members assisted with the serving. George and Verl Nelson spent last week at Clearfield with their sons, after Verle had eye surgery in Ogden, Jan. 9. Jennie Merkleys daughter, Linda and Bryon As tone, Salt Lake, were here to attend funeral services for Walter LeFever Jan. 2, with she and Jerry Merkley in Tabiona. Laretta and Norman Casper, Bountiful spent a couple of days with her mother, Jennie and Jerry Merkley. Glen Bemund has spent some time in the Duchesne County Hospital. He was moved to the Cedar Crest Care Center Friday last week. He would enjoy hearing from his many friends. Carman and Linda Pitt had a pair oftwin boys born at the Duchesne County Hospital Jan. 9. They had respiratory problems, and were Air Flighted to the Utah Valley Hospital, Provo, where they are in intensive care units. At this time thqy are reported to be in good condition and improving. Donna Pitt, Bridgeland, has been in the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake where she had back surgery. Pam and Dean Peterson and daughter, Anna, their daughter Sandra and Ken Nielson and baby Audry, Leminton, and Darri Brown, Price, all spent the New Years weekend at their sons home, Scott and Leslie Peterson, in Vernal. Bill and Veva Tollefson, Lori and Duston Tollefson spent the weekend with Ron and MaryJean Tollefson and family in Vernal. They were all joined by Bruce and Darlene Tollefson for a Mexican dinner cm New Years Eve, and dinner on New Year's Day at the Ron Tollefson home. Jenkins travels to help Roosevelt Vets The Roosevelt area currently has 140 unemployed veterans. But here to help is Edwin Jenkins from the Vernal Job Service office. Although his main duties are in Vernal, hell be traveling to file Roosevelt Job Service to meet with vets. Im pretty easy going and a good listener, Jenkins said. Ill go out of my way to help someone find a job. The most important thing that area vets need to know is to get registered at Job Service, he said. His responsibility is to find shouldnt feel that way. Jenkins moved to Vernal three years ago with his wife Suzanne and their five children. Roosevelt recently for the blessing of their granddaughter, a daughter of Jody and Jean Liddell. She was blessed by her father, and given the name of Jacinda. RoseAnna brought him home Friday, Jan. 13. Gary and Gloria Thomas ' returned home from a three week trip back east. They visited for two days in Brighton, 111., with Elwin and Lena Mae Thomas.
