Show UINTAH BASIN STANDARD. August 17. 1988 11 Junkyard Classics host Auto Showcase During the weekendof July 13 and 14, a local Basin automobile club, the Junkyard Classics hosted their Fifth Annual Auto Show, that featured 162 entriee from all over the area and even entriee from as far away as Holly Spring, Georgia. The two-da-y event was held at Constitution Park in Roosevelt, and featured nine out of state cars, 67 Basin cars and 86 from thereat of the State. The Uintah Basin based club V i Lome Morris of Vernal, Second got its name on a suggestion by Jolene Perank, who. is current treasurer of the club. The name was voted on and approved by the club which currently has about 38 members. Neil Bergstrom is President and Jo Gardner is Vice President and Sharen Bergstrom is club secretary and members come from all over the Basin. A car that is over 20 years old is considered a claseic and over 30 years old is considered an antique and club members attend other shows, as well as promote the one they hold here in the sin. They also hold and advertise to gain the attention of other ear enthusiasts. This year the registration fee y for the event was $20 which covered a beef dinner, entertainment, (a special movie at the local drive-in-), as well as the awards.
