Roes that the bid for the rodeo for the years, 1988, 1989 and 1990, be awarded to Cleggs and the amount for the rodeos to be held are $3,700.00, $3,900.00 and $4,100.00 respectively. Clayton Hatch met with the commissioners to discuss a portion of the property taxes that he owes on property that he owns in the Cottonwood Creek Estates 02 subdivision. The land is currently tied up in litigation that is pending an appeal before the State Appellate Court Mr. Hatch was requesting an extension of time on the payment of the taxes. The commissioners told Mr. Hatch that they didn't feel that they should make a decision on the matter until a ruling is handed down by the Mr. Hatch said that he court would pay the taxes due under protest in order that he may apply for a partial refund if the ruling is not in his favor. The commissioners agreed that a bus loading area was needed but felt that the School District should take care of the problem themselves rather than relying on the county road department to do the work. The three men said that they would meet with the school board and make the request to them. Brad also informed the commissioners of an auction which will be held in Salt Lake on a piece of property located in the industrial subdivision next to the airport in Roosevelt and wondered if the county may be interested in purchasing it for future development. The commissioners felt that it would be better if a private individual purchased the ground and tried to develop it rather than the county. Deputy Auditor Judy Mutton presented payroll vouchers to the commissioners for their approval It was moved by Nelson and seconded by Ross that the vouchers be approved as presented. Boys included were Carl Grimaud, Adam Hamblin, Layne Pittman, Jason Lamb, Jeremy Holmes, Scott Sanderson, Scott King, Ray Crow, Joshua Barneck, Raymond Nielsen, Casey Christensen, Shane Webb, Boon Iorg, David Abegglen, Rodney Hatch, Maynard Sanderson, Jacob Barneck, Darwin McKee, Mark Daniels and Tony King. They boys parents and leaders took turns with transportation. Delmar and Barbara Hamblin received word of being first time grandparents. A baby girl was born to son Shane and Shaunette Hamblin November 19 in Salt Lake. December 6 they went to Salt Lake for the blessing and naming of their granddaughter, which was performed by her fsther Shane, giving her the name of Shaleena. The Seventh Ward Christmas party will be held December 23. It is an activity for all family members. Jim and Ila V. Larsen went to Stockman for the holiday weekend with daughter, Ellen and Marvin Montague and family. Afterwards they brought their son back home with them. re-zo- Commissioners postponed Carolyn Myron Nola Nelaon County Assessor Jessie Peatross presented a tax adjustment to the commissioners for their approval for Cameron Eldredge. They approved an adjustment of $62.47, due to an error in evaluation of the property for 1987. At 2:00 p.m. Commission Chairman LeGrand Gilbert called to order a hearing to consider the following piece of property in Section 11, T i S, R 8 W. Richard and Carol Rasmussen, individuals requesting the change, and County Planner Jack Wood attended the hearing, Mr. Smith, an adjoining property owner called to expresa his concerns that whatever business goes into the area needs the proper inspections of the waste water facilities in order to protect the wells in the ares. The commissioners informed him that the Uintah Basin Health District would be responsible to do that and that the county would monitor them to see that the necessary inspections are made. Since no one opposed the zone change it was moved by Nelson and seconded by Ross that the change be approved as requested. Rex Harriosn from Horrocks Engineers, met briefly with the commissioners to present to them for their approval a partial payment request from Ned B. Mitchell Construction for work done to date on the Bluebell Road. After reviewing the bill it was moved by Nelson and seconded by Ross that payment to Ned Mitchell Construction in the amount of $76,792.72, less the 10 percent to be retained by the County, be approved. It was moved by Nelson and seconded by Ross that an executive session to discuss a matter pertaining to a county employee be approved. Jerry Conley from UBAG and County Auditor Diane Freston met with the commissioners to discuss the organization and responsibility for directing the senior citizen program in Duchesne County. There has been some question as to who is responsible for what as far as monitoring expenditures of the program goes. After discussing the matter it was determined that a commissioner would sit on the board of directors over the aging program and that the board would take the responsibility of budgeting and approving expenditures of the available funds. At 4:00 p.m. Commission Chairman LeGrand Gilbert called to order a public hearing to discuss the proposed 1988 budget. All fund revenues and expenditures induing county general funds, library funds, B" road funds, bond ana sinking funds and revenue sharing funds were reviewed.
