Union is traveling to South Summit on November 20. They have a good start on the year after they beat the Duchesne girls team last Saturday, Coach Stan Allen said they lost six seniors last year and they have one returning, experienced varsity player. Even with that, the team looked very good against the girls. The Lady Cats put 12 points on the board before Duchesne could put their first ones up and in. Then the hosts put another 13 on the board before the Eagles could muster any more. The first quarter was the tempo of the whole game. The Lady Cougars were running and gunning almost at wilL One of the few bright spots in the Eagle defense and offense was the performance of Cindy Spencer, Tessh I vie, and Lori Peterson. She will be backed up by Yvonne Collett the and Rachel Dye. Helping Shanna as the rest of the guard positions will be Yolonda Collett and Suzanne McKinnon. Allen said the team is very competitive and this was shown during the Duchesne game. Dye rolled her ankle just after the half and was limping off the floor. Coach Allen said she will take a week or two to get back to full strength on the ankle but was encouraged to see how eager she was to get back into the game. The Cats will host a full ten games at home this year. Weekend games will begin at 6 for JV and 7 for vanity. Weekday gamee will be at 4 and 6, respectively. The next home game will be on November 20 with Lehi. Then on November 26 they will host Grantsville before going on the road to Morgan on the Friday after Thanksgiving. The Cougars took 90 shots in the game against Duchesne.
