Officer Tim Trujillo went through two days of pursuit training before he was allowed to take the car. Thia special training made Trujillo more aware of the things to do in pursuit and how the car handles in pursuit situations. He is now the pursuit specialist' for the Highway Patrol District. The car he has is so hot UHP :.,7. "X personnel that havent gone through the pursuit school won't be authorised to drive it, Trujillo said. Trujillo said he doesn't really know what the car will do because he could only get it up to about 86 on the Bonneville Speedway course they trained on. Kristen Winkler Suzy Farnsworth Local - scouts join jamboree Thirty Uintah Basin scouts and three leaders from the area leave Wednesday, July 17, for the National Scout Jamboree at Fort AJ. Hill in Virginia. The trip marks the culmination of g months of meetings, and planning for the group. At Fort Hill they will join 34,000 other scouts and leaders for a week of camping, trading and scouting. The local troop is going a week early so they ean tour the Washington D.C. area before the jamboree. Scoutmaster for the troop is Richard Kerr, of Duchesne, with Terry Winn, and Vaughn Mott of hind-raisin- Nicole Wimmer Sue Ann Miles Carla Larsen Vernal as assistant scoutmasters. Bob Mathews of Provo is also an assistant scoutmaster. This is a special Jamboree for the acouts as it marks the 75th anniversary of scouting in the United States. Scouts attending the Jamboree from Roosevelt are: Wesley Ercan-brac- k, Keith Winterton, David Lemon, Bryan Pectrt, Kyle Snow, Jeff Winder and Chad Hamblin, who is also Senior Patrol Leader for the troop.
