Charlie Stewart, a descendent of Chief Sitting Bull and a junior in psychology from Pine Ridge, S.D., is a member of the Oglala-Siou- x tribe and chairman of this years festivities under the auspices of the Tribe of Many Feathers, the campus-wid- e organization to which nearly 600 Indian students on campus belong. Four days of festivities will end Thursday with the traditional banquet and coronation of the new Miss Indian BYU. Elder George P. Lee, a member of the LDS Church's First Quorum of the Seventy and the first Indian to receive a doctoral degree from BYU, will be the featured speaker at the banquet which begins at 6 p.m. in the Wilkinson Center ballroom. Tickets are required for the banquet, with the admission charge including a dance after the dinner and coronation. Dr. Kramer has a Ph.D. in anthropology. Her experience in the field of education includes sfT RMH BYU college teaching, evaluating community-sponsored educational enrichment programs, and educational films on science and technology. One series of educational films, The Search For has been released to Solutions, American and European movie theaters, as well as to secondary schools. Dr. Kramer stated, Head Start ia an exciting program because it can be responsive to community needs. We have seven centers and each can be a little different The Ute Indian Tribe's Head Start Program is one of the oldest in the country' and is a model program.
