Theleague carries a fairly full schedule of athletic events for the. schools involved including volleyball, foot- ball, wrestling, basketball and trade. In January the basketball season will begin and teams are pres- . ently being forned for that com- . petition. ... Most schools, have separate ' teams for the varsity which usually includes ninth grade students and a few eighth graders and a junior varsity which has a number of eighth grade students and a laigje group of seventh grade students. Some schools even have a seventh grade team as well . PEOPLE WHO The sport also indudes a divi-sion for boys and girls, and the competition between the varsity teams of both genders gets quite heated, particularly, when it comes to tournament time at the end of the regular season. Last year Canyon View Junior High from Huntington won the league boys championship while the girls title was won by Helper JuniorHigh, , This year looks to be just as competitive as usual with some great rivalries raging just like they have in the past. The Helper Junior-MoHarmon rivalry is always strong and so is the San Rafael Junior- Canyon View tussle. It will be an interesting year in both the girls and boys games. nt .
