The results were as follows: First Place, 3rd year bands: Monticello 8 th Second Place, 3rd year bands: San Juan 8th First Place, 2nd year bands: Monticello 7th Second Place , 2nd year bands: San Juan 7th Third Place, 2nd year bands: Grand 8th First Place, 1st year bands: Monticello 6th, Grand, 7th-8tTie Third Place, 1st year bands: San Juan 6th h, Best Mannered Band: Monticello 6th Grade Congratulations to all participants! To see over 400 participants from the 6th, 7th, and 8th grades perform at such a festival was quite the thrill! Friday, April 5 was the State Jazz Festival. The MHS Jazz Band had qualified to participate, and traveled to Park City to do so. The results were that the band got an excellent mark for their performance, and a superior for their sight reading. Congratulations! Thursday, April 10 featured the MHS high school band and choir traveling to Millard High School to participate in the region 13 large group festival. This was the first time in that region, and the kids did real well. Of the six schools only one band qualified to go to state, and that was the MHS band. The MHS choir did real well, as well, receiving a Superior minus score. The kids were well behaved and did a real good job. Congratulations to all of them! - Activities coming up in the month of May for the Homeschoolers in Monticello and Blanding will include a variety of events.
