Show ?iC. f.t mm Btitoewatte Romeo and Juliet by MHS opens Valentines Day 6 r. y r. i The time is not far hence that we shall talk of life and love. Just a reminder, the play will open with a bang on February 14, Valentines Day (reserved tickets are required for the dinner. RSVP by February 13). The Greenshow begins at 6:30 p.m. each evening in the high school foyer, followed by the play. Curtain is promptly at 7 p.m. For ticket information, please call gentleman of noble parentage. Juliet is eager to love and be loved, but will not commit herself to him until she has spent time enough to make an honorable decision. Let us begin with the Capulets. Although very wealthy, they stand in social stature no higher than their sworn the enemies, Montagues. Juliet, played by Heather Hart, is the Capulets only child. As is the custom of the times, Lord and Lady the trivial things of life, including their daughter. The Count Paris, as played by Sam Christensen, is delighted with this match as well 587-246- 5. i s 9 I Capulet, as played by Alden Jack and Kisper Ramsay, plan to have an arranged marriage for their daughter. Lord Capulet is very excited about the eligible bachelor he meets with Juliet and they dance. Romeo and Juliet arte blinded by love and see no deeper than into each others hearts. The nurse discovers all and tells Juliet of her fate; she has fallen in love with a Juliets nurse, characterized Montague. Juliet pines over her love and they meet again in secrecy in the Capulet garden. Following their meeting, Romeo is engaged in a battle and slays Tybalt and Romeo flees to the Friars Cell. The Princess Desdemona, played by LoyRetta Crane, comes to the place of battle. She is gravely angry at the Capulets and Montagues who always bicker and fight in the streets for a cause that is long since forgotten. She tries desperately to keep the peace. However, she and her lady in waiting, played by Elizabeth Weatherford, can do nothing but place punishments and watch the doomsday of death by Cynthia Harris, is thrilled with this match and teases Juliet relentlessly about how handsome the Count Paris is. The nurse raised dear Juliet from a baby as Lord and Lady Capulet were far too busy for and tries to speed Lord Capulet in getting the marriage arranged. Romeo has been teased into going to the linger. Through the entire play, Lady Listra keeps the story masque by his friends, Mercutio and Benvolio. However, Tybalt is at the masque and discovers Romeo. Tybalt, played by Justin Tibbs, is angry that Romeo has selected. The Capulets dare to come and make a mock present Juliet at a masque to at their solemnity and fetches their selection of a worthy his sword to chase Romeo I Lord Capulet, seeing Tybalt in an angry fury, races after him and stops him from making a scene at the masque. Romeo and Juliet, presented by Monticello High School beginning February 14, features high drama, beautiful costumes, and a Courtesy photo green show. She, knowing all, flits through the scene by scene as the plot develops. Lady Listra, played by Julianna Redd, is the narrator. Finally, without help of crew leader Caleb Smith, the play could not be complete. He is in his first year ofdrama and has done expertly bringing light to the stage. Heather Hart enjoys singing and running. Kisper Ramsey enjoys dancing, playing the piano, guitar, flute, and drawing. She is involved in Sterling Scholar and is a enfor Alden MES. Jack play the piano, runjoys playing g ning, and is also a play for MES along with part-directi- ng part-directin- Sterling Scholar. Cynthia Harris enjoys band and playing the piano. Sam Christensen likes music and motorcycles. LoyRetta Crane and Elizabeth Weatherford are simply inseparable. They are involved in band and choir. Justin Tibbs likes Life Science and technology. Julianna Redd greatly enjoys running, involv- ing herself in many other school activities, and helping her dad on the farm. Caleb Smith is the Anchor of the play. It is his first year involved in Drama but he is learning all the technical stuff and is doing a fabulous job. Dont forget, the cast performs February 6 at 7p.m. sharp in the MHS auditorium. Book Club to meet Feb. 23 The next meeting of the Monticello Book Club will be on Feb. 23 at 3 p.m. The book we will review is The War of the Worlds, by H.G. Wells. A big thank you to Lee Bennett for sharing her knowledge of the area where the last book took place. A sincere welcome to the new members. More members are always welcome.
