Show THE SAN JUAN RECORD Wednesday, October 17, 2001 - P County booth big hi .by Malva Jones On Monday, September 3, 1 ventured out of our fair settlement to the Great Village beyond the Plain (Salt Lake City, for those who do not know what lies beyond the Plain) to set up our County Fair Booth for San Juan County at the .State Fair. Fortunately, I had family to camp with and to help me with that little task. However, since ours was a campecene, I could have just stopped along the road, pitched my little halfman tent. Local residents earn honors at Utah State A number of San Juan County residents did well in the annual Utah State Fair,-helin September in Salt Lake City. Amanda Hillhouse finished third overall in Professional Fine Arts, for her watercolor of a pink Model T Ford car. Other San Juan County residents who received ribbons at the State Fair include Mimi Tbomey, who received a blue ribbon in Creative Arts for her doll; Iris T. Barton, who received a white ribbon in Home Arts for a quilt; and Monica Peterson, who received a blue - ribbon in Home Arts for a tablecloth. d . students in San Juan 4-- H County who earned ribbons at the state fair include Krieg Adair, Rhett Adair, Sunday DeGraw, Trey Esplin, Nicole Freestone, Allison Montgomery, Rachelle Montgomery, Chase Randall, Kaitlyn Randall,- Jason Reeve, Sara Reeve, Scott Reeve, and Kimberly Rowley.
