Saved By The Belt" stories Another viewpoint on last weeks to spend this time with you every two weeks. I am killing the time while I consider what to write in this column this time. The last one caused a slight rippling of the waters. Some folks took the words for something they were not intended, and have registered some complaints. I have been in some sort of advertising for the past 28 years, and am the first to recognize the value of it. When folks start talking about this column, that is advertising. So, Jackie and Minnie, thanks for the free advertising. I was considering an apology. But then I considered. what was in the column, for the life of me 1 could not. see anything to apolo- In late spring while driving home from work at Fort Lee, Virginia and traveling on a four-lan- two lanes in each direction, with no divider, I was passing a slow moving truck when it suddenly pulled into my lane. Think-- . ing quickly to avoid being crushed by the truck, 1 jerked the steering wheel to the left. When I looked again I was in the oncoming traffic lane and two cars were coming toward me. I couldn't continue across the road as there was a huge ditch on the other side. I jerked the steering wheel back ,to the right and the automobile started to turn over from the sharp turning of the steering wheel. Regaining control of the automobile I was able to re-turn to my side of the highway and avoid injury and possible death to g. gize for. About the only thing I can think of is I did not recognize the ridicu? lous outfits that some guys sport. I saw a guv iust the other Hav hpre at Dugway who was boasting that he was wearing a $75 sweater. It was really sharp had suede shoulder pads. Boy, that was a good looking sweater. It sort of lost its impact under the bib overalls he was wearing. Well, on to bigger and better things. How about ESPN? How wonder how many Dugway realize that the best way to insure that we small town, small school parents keep our voice in county and school district policy is to vote on November 2nd. A pre- requisite to that, of course, is mak- ing sure that were registered to vote. Any U.S. citizen who has lived in Utah 30 days and is 18 years old by November 2nd may register to vote. Although military such an enjoyable article and taking it so seriously, people should be glad that we on Dugway even have a newspaper to read. We don't know who started the petition, but thank you for giving us a good laugh at work. We take you about as seriously as we do c members will probably wish to vote in their home state so as not to change their home of record, the spouse of a servicemember CAN register to vote in Utah.
