Show AS — The Herald Journal Logan Utah Monday January 6 2003 Obitoarios Lawrence ' Leon Bingham LOGAN Utah Lawrence Leon Bingham 71 passed away Sunday Jan 5 2003 at the Logan Regional Hospi-- : tal He was bom Feb 2 1931 in Smithfietd to Lawrence Piatt and Blanche Cantwell Bingham He married Margaret Wells Jones on July 9 1973 Leoh spent his younger years in Am alga and later moved to Smithfield in 1970 He moved to Logan in 1973 and spent the remainder of his jife there He graduated from North Cache High School in 1949 As a youth Leon worked for Del Monte canning He served with the United States Army from 1951 to1953 during the Korean Conflict His service time was spent at the Redstone Army Arsenal ma From there he went to JB Parson Construction and worked until he was hired by USU Physical Plant in 1960 He worked for USU until he retired as a supervisor in 1992 In November of 2002 he received recognition for 50 years continuing membership in The American Legion Leon was an avid hunter and fisherman all his life He was a dedicated reader of history and western folklore Leon is survived by his wife Margaret mother Blanche and n four Terry (Terrie) Jones Logan Judy (Russ) Francis Layton Morris (Lynette) Jones Young Ward Randy Jones Logan 7 and 2 children He is also survived by one brother Nolan (Carol) Bingham Nephews Brad (Michelle) Bingham Stephen (Melanie) Bingham Nieces- -
