Stmiltm r r—riVM Artists at work seniors from University’s program are getting ready to display some of their finest work in the annual senior BFA exhibition Their exhibition “Destined for Greatness’’will be in the Twain Tippetts Exhibition Hall in the Chase Fine Arts Center on cam- pus The show is open to the Throuoh 1 Twain Tippets bition HaO in the Chase Fine Arts Center USU award-winnin- “There are so many talented graduating students here in the art department I wouldn’t miss it” said Allison Cosper a senior photography major “There is a lot of behind-the-scenhard work that goes into an exhibition of this size” said Gackstetter The BFA program is a demanding mid intensive spe- cialty degree A higher required grade point average and 20 additional upper division art : credits distinguish this degree ' from a general bachelor of art ' or bachelor of science degree in art Each student must also choose an area of emphasis to explore in greater depth “I’ve gained a deeper respect for art and its importance in society and history” said Jason Campbell a senior majoring in graphic design The BFA program prepares students for careers as professional artists Some of the graduates will go on to work in the : commercial or fine art world while others will continue their education in a master’s program “We have an outstanding program I would be willing to put up against not only any lege program in the Mountain West but in the country” said John Neely art department es -- : Utah ’ 400-se- al recital hall square-fois scheduled to start in summer 2004 On completion in late' summer 2005 the recital hall will be the launching pad as the architects put it for the universi- ty’s School of the Arts!
