The Herald Journal Logan Utah Saturday April ' 102004 ’’ Obituarlos ifton Bingham 'Stewart Ryan Our beloved mother grand-1- ’ mother and SCOTTSDALE Artz— Afton Bingham : : Stewart 92 ' passed away on Monday April 5 2004 in Scottsdale She was bom March25 1912 the oldest of four children bom to Lester and Mae Bingham of Vemai As a child she' was active in 4-where at the age of 12 she took her prize heifer Guernsey to Chicago and won a blue ribbon forjter hard work Alton went to USU In Logan where she met Ernest I Stewart Jr Alton was past president of Chi Qmega Sorority and Ernest was a Sigma Chi Alton and Ernest married June 6 1935 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple They had two daugh- JoypeV Ryan' 78 passed Taylor away peacefulty at her home from congestive heart failure surrounded by her family on Aprii 5 2004 She was bom on July 12 1925 In Logan to John Herbert and Mae Loretta Christensen Taylor She maintained her sweet and loving spirit to the very fend of her days She marched Jack Haneen Ryan on March 28 1 946 in the Logan LOS Temple They had three eons and one daughter They were later divorced She also raised two grandsons Harley and Joshua Ryan Joyce was a lifelong faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-da- y Saints She ' served in the Primary yraS a Relief Society teacher and a Cub Scout leader for many years She also served in various other callings in the church throughout her life She worked for 23 years at Utah State University in the Merri Library She began work- ing as a second secretory in the librarian's office but quickly assumed fuN responsibility of running the office as the exedu- tore secretory to Dr Milton Abrams who was the director library After Dr Abrams’ retirement she worked for Glenn Wilde iShe was also the secretory of the Educational Pblicies Committee while at USU In 1975 she was honored as the Classified Employee of the " Month She cherished the memories of all the people she worked with and met while working at USU She gained many friends and much respect and admiration Joyce loved her family and devoted her life to caring for them Her family always came first and was her pride and Joy Her love was unconditional One thing she will always be remembered for is her happy and positive attitude She was always concerned about every-- -' one else before she thought of herself Her home was open to ' everybody and you never left her home without getting a hug She always kept a beautiful yard and enjoyed working outside in her manyflpwer gardens She grew roses that were so beautiful they were breath- taking She also decorated the inside of her house for every holiday She was a true and loyal Jazz fan She loved to watch the games on TV Karl Malone was ' her favorite player She is Survived by her four children Richard (Nancy) Ryan of Centerville Janet Ryan and Ron Ryan both of Young Ward and Jim Ryan of Logan IQ grandchildren and seven great- grandchildren She is also sur- vivedby a sister Jessie ' -
