in his sleep heart attack on Friday March 15 at hishome in Menlo Park Calif Darley was bom in Weilsville Cache County Utah on Dec 11 1917 He was the son of William G and Martha “Mattie" Maughan Dartey the oldest of six children Raised on a dairy farm during the Great Depression he spent his spare time studying As a consequence he was accepted to Utah Estate University W age 16 where he graduated with a bachelor's in English in 1939 Employed for a short time as a high school teacher in Cache Vblley he volunteered for military service with the US Army Air Corps at ‘ the outbreak of World War ll Following the war he returned to Cache County to resume his teaching career He obtained a master's in secondary education from USU in 1947 In 1957 he was accepted for doctoral work in secondary education studies at Stanford Lana “Nana" Kautz BOISE Idaho —Lana Kautz 58 of Boise died Sunday March 17 2002 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident Ave Jenson H Lomax Jenson 94 died Sun- day March 17 2002 in Salt Lake City of a lingering illness ' resulting from a stroke She was bom on Feb 18 1908 in Nephi Utah a daugh- ter pf John Henry Lunt and Rose Ella Carter She was raised and schooled in Nephi On Dec 12 1930 Erma married LeRoy Thomas Lomax who is now deceased Their daughter Rose Marie Lomax Knudson died on June 151999 On Nov 29 1944 Erma married Dewane Evan ' Jenson of Hyrum Utah They ' resided in Brigham City Utah until he passed away on Dec 22 1996 Erma was a membeir of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints senring in many positions and was a faithful visiting teacher for many years A compassionate friend to all who knew her she was always help-in- g others She was a beautician operating her own beauty ' shop for several years Erma was also a very talented artist excelling in oil painting china ' painting porcelain dolls and' ceramics Her work was beloved by all especially her family She served on tlie Brigham City Library Board the Civic Clifc and was a member of Beta Sigma Phi and several ' china painter dubs Erma is survived by one step- -' son Evan Dewane Jenson of Richland Wash and one stepdaughter Marilyn Jenson Price of For) Collins
