— Grant H Mauchley 85 passed away peacefully at the Logan Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a coura- geous battle with Alzheimer's on March 15 2003 He was bom Feb 17 1918 in Millville Utah to Ernest and Luella Rasmussen Mauchley Grant married his lifetime sweetheart Ellen Cook on Sept 6 1941 Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple Their life together was blessed by three children Janet Richard and Kristine Grant graduated from South Cache High School and Utah State University He worked for Logan Power and Light while going to college and was one of the best school teachers for many years at Emmett High Idaho North Cache High and Sky View High School until his retirement He also served as the justice of the peace in Richmond for many years Grant has been a member of the Richmond Lions Club American Legion and The Utah League of Cities Grant served in the Bjigt military during World War II in Australia New Zealand and the Philippine Islands He was a very proud American Dad was a hard worker all his life He lived during the Great Depression arid always made foe best of any problem that came about Dad could fix anything that moved and had one of the best gardens and yards in Richmond Dad liked to fish hunt camp cook outside golf and do about anything that involved the family Dad was a very patient man and was loved by many Dad had a great sense of humor that stayed with him till death Dad will be missed by all those that knew and loved him He is survived by his wife Ellen to whom he was married for 61 years and foe following daughters and son Janet (Webb) Harpe Uintah Richard (Vickie) Mauchley Brigham City and Kris (Scott) Atkinson Battle Ground Wash He is also survived by a brother and sister Eldon Mauchley and Phillis Toolson nine grandchildren and He nine was preceded in death by his father and mother four brothers one sister and one grandson Funeral services will be held on Wednesday March 19 at noon at the Alien-Ha- lt Davidson Wahlen age 93 died on March 15 2003 hi SL George He was bom May 17 1909 Logan Utah to Julius Charles and Annie Davidson Wahlen He married Peart Naylor on June 30 1932 in Ogden Utah They were later married for eternity on June 13 1963 in the Logan Temple His loving wife Peart died March in 252002 was the youngest of four boys and one giri He grew up in Logan and worked on foe family farm in Benson Ward He graduated from Logan High School in 1927 After their marriage Bit managed "Bob's Barbeque’ in Ogden until 1942 at which time he was hired as a brakeman for the Southern Pacific Railroad He was later promoted to freight conductor He retired in 1976 and Bill foe family moved to Murray In 1993 they moved to SL George to be dose to their daughters Bill’s first priority was his family and he was always very sweet and patient with his daughters He was an avid hunter and fisherman particularly fly fishing He was proficient at tying his own flies He fished in most of the rivers in the West and also enjoyed deep sea fishing in Mexico Surviving family include: his daughters MarDeanne Wahlen and Shard (John) Wall both of SL George and grandson Stanley Shane Wall of SL George He is preceded in death by his wife his parents his three brothers Oliver Robert and Emory and his sister Lucia Checketts Funeral services will be held Saturday March 22 at 1 pm at Lindquist Mortuary to Thomas Hyrum and May Pex-to- n Burton She died March 17 2003 in Logan Utah Florence was educated at Nephi (Juab) High School BYU and Beauticians School of Washington DC and she married thorn as Glen Worthington in the Salt Lake Temple on June 24 1931 Alifeof service to all and a deep love of children were her precious trademarks She was part of the Special Generation that lived through foe Depression and won the second World War During the war Florence drove her car with a crew of women from Logan to foe Defense Depot in Ogden every day but Christmas and the Fourth of July and she did this from 1943 to 1945 and also worked with the USO in the ' evenings Florence was a founding member of the Logan Golf and Country Club and was very active 'in establishing Civic Music Concerts in Logan She gave considerable time and mean to both family and many many dear friends and Utah State University associates She was talented in so many areas and an excellent cook who generated many
