brought out the best in everyone she met She was a full time supporter of friends and family She was devoted to her Father in Heaven and to the Church of Saints Jesus Christ of Latter-da- y She was tenacious and persevered during good times and bad Her positive outlook was a testament to her deep and abiding faith She was deeply loved and will be missed by her family and friends She is survived by her daughter Joan L Herd of Logan a son Paul A (Valerie) Larson of Lake Jack-so- n Kermit J Texas a Herd of Logan three sisters-in-la12 grandchilone brother-in-ladren 25 and numerous nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by her husband her 10 brothers and sisters and one grandson Funeral services will be at noon on Saturday March 6 in the Logan 33rd Ward Chapel 1260 N 1600 East with Bishop Danel Bachman He was bom Oct 22 1934 in Providence Utah a son of Ray Warner and Venice Tibbitts Major Lynn married Elaine Miller on Sept 5 1958 in Hyrum Utah They were sealed in the Ogden Temple on Nov 1 1994 He was a member of the Church of Jesus-Chriof Latter-da- y Saints He was serving as executive secretary in the bishopric and had been involved in the Scouting program Lynn enjoyed hunting fishing and camping His greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his family grandchildren and all of his nieces and nephews He was employed as a supervisor for AT&T until his retirement arms of her beloved and loving husband on Tuesday Match 2 1999 She was born in Bench Idaho on Feb 10 1905 the daughter of Homer Charles and Mary Eviline Taylor Call She was one of 11 children She married Willard Abner Larson on June 20 1928 in the Logan LDS Temple Edrus spent her younger years In Bench Willard Utah then Logan Utah where she met and married her husband while he was attending Utah State Agricultural College now Utah State University Edrus worked briefly in a Logan department store but shortly after marriage she began her lifelong dedication to homemaking rearing a family and loving and caring for her husband The family next moved to Preston Idaho She continued to live there for the following 60-so- years She remained active in the LDS Church throughout her life senring in many church organizations She was pianist and organist in many wards and stakes and accompanied numerous groups and soloists both in and out of church settings Her passion for music most importantly allowed her to teach the piano and organ to several gene ra tions of students in the Pceston She was a charter member of the Preston Fine Arts Club and enjoyed her work with the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and remained active She loved doing genealogy work and temple work In her last years she moved back to Logan and at the time of her death was son-in-la- w w w to 11:30 am Saturday Major Salt Lake City and Ken Major Millville Utah two sisters Janice Keif St George Catherine Jones and Utah Wellsville Utah He is preceded in death by his parents one brother and one sister-- in-law 100 N Medical Drive Salt Lake City UT 84113 Roy Herbert Merrill 85 of Prov- idence Utah died of a sudden heart attack in Mesa Ariz Feb 27 1999 He was bom March 14 1913 to Edgar and Pearl Smith Merrill In Chandler Ariz The family moved to Hayden Ariz and lived there until his teens and then moved tr Mesa His father passed away ii 1930 when Roy was 17 leaving a wife and eight children Floy and his older sister Betva were given the responsibility of working to support the family On Nov 4 1936 he married Floyle Palmer in the Mesa LDS Temple She preceded him in death on Aug 2 1994 He worked for the city of Mesa as a police officer and a fireman He also worked for the power company in Phoenix The family moved to Albuquerque NM in 1945 and he drove for Continental Trailways as a bus driver and for Navajo Freight Lines He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-daSaints y and served as bishop and high He was very outgoing councilman and made friends everywhere he went He had a very good memory and would tell stories of the old days and keep everybody interested He loved to cook and work on his own car He loved to travel and visit old friends and relatives Survivors include Utah surrounded by all of his children Farrel was born May 16 1919 at Mink Creek Idaho the son of Junius Christian and Charity Eliza Rasmussen Larsen He spent his early years in Mink Creek where he attended school His senior year of high school he attended in Preston where he graduated with the class He worked for the CCC a time and returned to Preston where he worked for Utah Poultry He served in the US Coast Guard from 1943 to 1946 Fie married Lora Elizabeth Hansen of 1937 in McCall for McCune Motor Company in Preston where he was service manager and drove wrecker From 1960 to 1990 he worked for Logan Manufacturing where he traveled extensively driving truck delivering snow cats to various ski resorts nationwide "Grandpa Bean" as he was affectionately called by his grand- children for the jelly beans and other goodies he always provided them will be greatly missed by all his family Survivors include his sons and their spouses Richard D (Susan) Larsen of Boise Idaho Mrs F Donald
