What are they doing cheering for the visiting team? Where exactly am I? When will this happen at home games? Why did they come? How will die Eagles react? Wait don’t I know those people? Yeah that'sand that’s- - Jiey those are students from CEU Approximately 50 to 75 people made the two-hotrip from Price to support their school "The crowd was huge I couldn’t believe it Anytime you have a crowd be loud and vocal it brings out your best” women's head coach Dave Paur said "You get an adrenaline rush and it helps bring you up after you make a good play” went on the crowd's blaring level increased as the As the officials' calls became more and more detrimental to the Eagles' cause "The crowd was awesome they were great" Lady Eagle Alisa Chamberlin exclaimed "It was incredible I have never seen anything like it It helped a lot to have their support” echoed Lady Eagle Tasha Bradley As the men's game began the crowd grew and became louder than the Snow fans The CEU students were able to get under the skin of the Badger mascot as he turned to try and quiet the enthusiastic group Men's head coach Ronnie Stubbs said it was great to see the fans come to Ephraim and support the team “It helped us to stay in the ur game" riled-u- p crowd had for the Eagles on the Having seen the effect a road I can only wonder what would happen if this kind support was at the home games 7 CEU successfully bounced back from the embarrassing loss to UVSC with a win against a struggling Dixie team Late in the second half CEU watched their seven-poiadvantage dissipate to a deficit with ten seconds to play This situation led to Ross's g heroics Ross dribbled the length of the court and plopped in a five-fo4 jumper to swipe the win Ross played wonderfully scotching the nets for 28 points including seven treys Chamber-lai- n chipped in 13 points and eight rebounds The next night veisus Snow ended with a tainted 75-7- 2 loss CEU led by one point with six seconds to play when Ross was fouled and sent to the line Chamberlain seeing that the Snow player had pulled on Ross's shirt said simply "she's holding her jersey” which resulted in a technical foul on Chamberlain This technical happened when Snow's coach thought she said "shut up and sit down” to her The referee talked to Snow's coach and made the call despite assistant coach Ted Bianco's "calm and collected" protests Head coach Dave Paur agreed "I've never seen a call like that in down-to-the-wi- re nt one-poi- nt game-endin- ot 85-8- years of coaching” Ross hit one of two free throws and then Snow made their technical free throws Snow then buried a three from the top of the key to win the game Jodi Hatch scored 21 points Ross threw in 15 points and Chamberlain recorded 12 points ten rebounds and six steals A win against Snow would have put CEU in third place in region play instead they are tied with Snow for sixth place However Paur says he was happy with the effort the girls showed on the road trip last weekend "We're slatting to play like we did before Christmas break playing well together and with intensity” The Lady Eagles travel to Colorado Northwestern Jan 28 and return home to face North Idaho
