Utah Valley Community College and Salt Lake Community College In defeating UVCC the Eagles also knocked off their second opponent of the season that was ranked in the top 20 national rankings with their first coming against Northland Pioneer in November The number 10 rated Wolverines from UVCC came to Price riding high after a December 14 victory over top ranked College of Southern Idaho Coach Duke Reid brought in a 16-- 1 record while the 13-- 2 Eagles were led by coach Ronnie Stubbs The Wolverines jumped out to an early 0 lead but that was the only lead they would see as CEU dominated from that point on Johnny Selvie scored four points on a lay-u- p and dunk to put CEU up 3 Both teams scored a pair of buckets before to make an 7 lead Kris Hill put in a for the Eagles CEU scored the Community Cbllcge came into Saturday night's game against the Lady Eagles with a perfect 15-- 0 record for the season including Five conference victories They left with a perfect 16-- 0 record after surviving a battle that will not show up in the final score of 80-5- 0 The Lady Eagles opened the game on two jump shots from Wendy Rhodes lo lake an early 2 lead Staci Myers then connected on a pair of buckets as the two teams traded scores for a 10-CEU lead It would be the last lead the Lady Eagles would enjoy 4-- 8 9 Stingy defense helped CEU scrap their way back to a 32-3-2 tie as Myers banked line to give SLCC the 68-6- 3 win The Lady Eagles made 14 out of 30 shots from the foul line compared to 30 out of 38 for SLCC The Lady Brains were hfcld to just 32 percent shooting fjrom the led with 28 points Hill knocked in 19 points and added 12 rebounds and Selvie hit for 17 points In Friday night's game against Salt Lake Community College the Golden Eagles led from start to finish on their way to a 72-3- 3 victory over the Brains Matt Smith helped the Eagles to an followed by a fade early lead with a away jumper as he sliced through the lane from right to left to boost the score to 24-1- 3 At the halftime break CEU held a 30-2- 3 lead The Brains stayed competitive early in the second session but could not pull closer than Five points The Bruins tried a halfcourt trapping
