Show ninnawrnmr 1 Forensics rank nationally The Cross Examination Debate Association released its annual rankings of college debate squads across the nation and CEU nmked second among all junior colleges second in the Rocky Mountain region and 16(h in the nation among all colleges and universities Coaches Neil Warren and Scott Pullan are extremely pleased with their squad's performance The College of Eastern Utah lost the top jTny college posi-tio- n to their strongest competition Bakersfield College of California CEU had remained ahead until the later put of the season Bakersfield attended several larger tournaments allowing them to accumulate more points and edge ahead of the CEU squad In the Rocky Mountain Region which includes Nevada Utah Colorado Arizona New Mexico Idaho Wyoming and Montana CEU placed second be hind the Air Force Academy The CEU squad was also able to beat long time competitors such as Arizona State who finished third and Rides College Kansas State again captured the national championship followed by UCLA Cental State and Southern Illinois The CEU squad improved on last yeart standings The CEU squad had placed third among junior colleges sixth in the Rocky Mountain region and 51st in the nation against the excess of 300 colleges and universities who participate in intercollegiate value debate This year's squad has also broken the school trophy record Last year the record was set at 176 trophies and 56 other awards This year the CEU team won 271 trophies and 73 other awards CEU competed in 14 tournaments this season and brought home 13 team sweepstakes trophies Funding needed to open library Saturdays Kristin Kohlmeier staff writer Why is the library open on Sundays and not on Saturdays?
