Show 2—CEU-Fri- day Nov 14 1980 Modified hierarchy eR3iforid The adCEU ministration will take on a new look this year with another dance Ahhh a slightly By Karla Edmondson “Live live every minute Don’t leave it for tomorrow what you can do today” as All Thompson says in his new hit single Too many of us find ourselves leaving many things for tomorrow We often put our heads in our hands and give up Our dreams remain dreams because we put them off and remain dreamers not doers This thought brings to mind many organizations on the CEU campus Hie ASCEU officers recently traveled to Southern California and Mexico for leadership conferences These conferences are supposedly to teach effective leadership how to plan school calendar and many more suggestions for running a school office But it seems as though all ASCEU officers learned was how to plan dances On any other college campus we would find there are activities of all types for students to engage in ASCEU will claim that they handled the responsibility of planning a calendar to the Inter Club Council This is not bad but I believe it would be nice to see ASCEU put a few creative and imaginative activities of their own on this calen- dar What is the purpose of having a student government? Is there really a need for one on a Junior college campus? Stop and think about this What have the praent officers offered us so far? I’m sure forums and budgeting could be worked out by the work of ICC if it were needed When we go in the student union building and see imv their office we feel that they must have some portant role on campus The ASCEU has one of the biggest offices on this campus It is spacious and nicely furnished some of their desks are nicer than some of the administrators’ Not to mention a phone on almost every desk Unfortunately all of the phones are on one extension One room with four or five phones now is this really practical? It is possible that those conferences taught them one thing: how to arrange an office I shouldn’t be complaining isn’t this how some big businesses and organizations are run? The ones with the titles have the bigger offices and their output is less I should feel fortunate that my staff and I are given an office It is nicely furnished too one desk and one usable typewriter for a staff of nine people Sometimes I think the newspaper office is mistaken for a storage room At the present yearbook materials and a popcorn machine are stored there For having such a small office I feel our output is steady and well done ASCEU should take a closer look at student facilities and activities on campus for their personal information and the betterment of the college Unless of course we want to be nothing but dreamers One must remember there is too much to be done to leave it until tomorrow Comfort in knowing someone cares ByToddGorlshek With the approach of the holidays well on its way we usually stop and remember those who are not as fortunate as ourselves We remember the homeless the sick and the elderly who seem to have been forgotten It is the elderly those who are in nursing homes care centers or just living alone without the comfort of knowing somebody cares that I would now like to bring to mind It is an unfortunate reality that these people only receive the attention concern and care from others during the holidays What about the other ten months of the year? These people don’t stop existing during these months yet we seem to think this according to the amount of interest we show in them Those of us who are fortunate to have family and friends who love and care about us seem only to remember those who are not as fortunate during the Yuletide months We feel guilty and therefore make a special effort to drop by and say hello to someone forgotten for the last ten months of the year 1HE E4GLE SWFF EDITOR Reporters Photographers Copy Advisor Advisor Karla Edmondson Shelly Babcock Victor Chapman LIsaGInes ToddGorlshek Jackie O' Berto Blake Olsen Wheeler Joe Mar relll Larry Severeld Susan A Polster THE EAOLE student official The publication of the College of Eastern Utah Price Utah The Eagle Is dedicated to give Information and service to the student body It represents The editorial opinions expressed In The Eagle do not necessarily reflect viewpoints of ad- ministration faculty student or staff Having done this we now laugh and joke with our friends and fed comfort in knowing we are cared about and also find comfort in knowing we had put a smile on someone’s face who had been forgotten Now when the holidays are over we still continue to find comfort in knowing we are loved by someone As the days the weeks and the months pass however some people wonder if they’re even cared about What about those cold and bleak months after the Christmas cheer is over? Who is there to give a warm “hello” or “How are you today?” The unfortunate fact is that in most cases it is no one My point is this : we should not fed we have filled our responsibility to our fellow human beings only during the holidays Today we laugh and find comfort with our friends and are concerned with what tomorrow will bring It is tomorrow that our youthfulness and possibly our friends will be gone leaving us as the elderly of our society It is then that we may not be so concerned with what tomorrow will bring but rather who tomorrow will bring As a member of the comment on the Editorial by Todd Gorishek titled Coed Capers which appeared in the last issue of The Eagle To say the least I was doubt I am speaking Just Are not Editorials to depict the feelings of The Eagle staff?
