Show GOLDEN EAGLE NOVEMBER Volume VII S 1M7 COLLEGE OF EASTERN UTAH PRICE UTAH Homecoming Week November Number S 6-- 11 Queen Candidates Good-lookin- g girls with lots of talent are on the campus of CEU They’ve been here for a while but now they are being properly introduced to their fellow students These of course are the girls running for the homecoming queen: Shaunda Peterson sponsored by the IDS Institute Pat Johnson sponsored by the Rodeo Club Bernice Marx representing Cosmetology Marianne Allied sponsored by the Intercollegiate Knights Alane Truscott the Sophomo r e representing class Catherine Conover sponsored by the Home Economics Club Shauna Hemming sponsored by Pi Gamma Chi Mary Naylor sponsored by Delta Psi Omega Kathryn Burdick sponsored by the Dorms and Pat Niwa representing the Freshmen These girls will be running for Homecoming Queen This year at CEU the judges from the community and faculty members choose the talent winner the students will decide the Homecoming Queen Girls who performed on Thursday were judged on talent preparation and quality of performance personality and stage presence and costume and appearance The queen wil be presented a trophy and she and her attendants will be given gifts from the student body and AWS The talent winner will perform at the variety show on Friday The queen will also ride on a special float sponsored by AMS In the parade to highlight the week Homecoming Parade Saturday November 11 Homecoming Queen candidates for CEU are left to right front row: Pat Johnson Linda Huff Pat Niwa Marie Naylor and Catherine Conover Back row left to right: Bernice Marx Marianne All red Mary Naylor Alene Truscott Kathy Burdick Shauna Hemming and Shawnda Peterson Spirit of CEU “Everywhere we go people want to know so we tell them ” And they who they are are Trudy Zaccaria Theresa Halpine Gary Holland and Brian Purdie These are CEU's newly chosen cheerleaders for 1967-6- 8 Proudly displaying the gold and blue colors the cheerleaders have chosen gold sweaters with blue and gold plaid skirts and slacks We arc proud to announce our new Pom Pom girls for the season They are: Shawnda Peterson Mary Naylor I a inn Million? and Alane Trusrot The girls have chosen long sleeved dresses with flared skirts The white dress is offset with n gold inset A blue blazer makes the outfit complete Together the cheerleaders and pom pom girls have planned a pep asssembly for November 16 in the gym third period There will be a bonfire November 17 in preparation for the alumni game November 18 Open House to 67-6- 8 be held at Zoo News No news is good news Zoo news is Dorm News Everyone is whirling 'round and 'round with the thoughts of homecoming The Dorms are no exception they have joined forces and have everything in full swing Everyone is joining talents to make this a special day The Dorm skit is a good representation of the talent to be found at the Dorms The Dorm float is a major project Everyone is enjoying the spirit as they create it at a garage down town To catch the extra spirit of homecoming the Dorms will have a window display down town November 8 1967 is a special day for the new Dorms along with the Homecoming events This is the night for Open House and everyone is welcome This is just a few of the things the Dorms are involved are The most important is the fact everyone is joining together to create a good homecoming COMING UP Nov 3—Window Displays I t t Com- pleted fr—— Skit Eliminations Nov Nov 7—Queen Candidates Appear on Television — Bob Welti Nov 9— Queen Talent Assembly Nov 19—7 am Alumni Recep- tion 8 am Welti Nov Variety Show — Bob 11—11:00 am Homecom- ing Parade CHEERLEADERS AND POM PO- M- Left to right first row: Mary Naylor Launa MigUore Trudy Zaccaria Theresa Halpine Back row Gary Holland Alane Truscott Shawnda Peterson and Brian Purdla 6:30 pm Homecoming orgasbord 9:00 pm Homecoming Sm- new dormitory CEU's new dormitory will be the scene of an Open House Wednesday November 8 according to Rich Staley Student Body Vice President The Open House has been scheduled to coincide with Homecoming Week Activities Mr Staley said All students as well as the general public are invited to tour the impressive two story facility during the hours of 7 and 10 pm In addition to the customary look at the building Mr Staley said light refreshments games music and just plain visiting will be featured AMS News The Halloween dance was held Saturday October 28 which was a great success There were various booths sponsored by the different clubs on campus The money they received from these booths was clear profit to the clubs The spook alley was also a spooky experience The heads of the dance committee were Rick Collins and Martel Muhlc-stei-n The admission was 25 cents Homecoming is the week of November 6th To help celebrate this event the AMS is also putting a window display at Woolworth’s The heads of the committee for this display are Wayne Bryner and Roy Mara-nasc- a There will also be a short skit given about the year 1949 the skit committee consists of A1 Santl and Craig Christensen The AMS had a gun safety assembly This was a success We would like to thank Mr Spiga-rc- li for presenting this fine assembly to us Any male student wishing to serve on any committee please contact Dory Dorman Rick Collins A1 Santl or any other member of the AMS 14 member |
