Show Friday May 28 1985 THE GOLDEN EAGLE Page Five Geri Grange to Compete in Miss Utah Pageant LINDA BARTLEY Homtcomlng Chairman Bartley Picked To Geri Grange daughter of Mr and Mrs Lamar Jacobs has been invited to compete in the annual Miss Utah Pageant to be held June 25 and 26 in Salt Lake City Geri will compete as Miss CEU in the annual pageant The invitation to participate in the contest came from Utah Pageant 'Officials Geri will perform a modern dance number for her talent presentation Geri was CEU Homecoming She has been Queen for 1964-6- 5 active in dance productions in her two years at CEU She was one of the lead dancers in the recent Musical Review Chairman Jim Young art instructor is shown working on giant eagle that will soon be placed on the College Marquee Homecoming ’65 t Hie Homecoming Committee has been selected for 1965-6- 6 The week will from be November big 8th through the 13th according to newly appointed chairman LJn-d-a Bartley Individuals on the committee are: Bands and Parade Kitty Horsley and Myma Ottcn-so- n Dance: Steffany Johnson and Dick Fazzio Alumni : Marian Burdick and Leonard Aoyagi Advertising Jane Spencer Variety: Christie Shield and Carolyn Hansen Queen: Alice Borrego and Bernadette Perrero Faculty Advisor is Mr Norm Larsen Faculty Students Plan for Summer Fall Several faculty members and students are planning interesting summers Mr Richard Watkins will be getting married in June to Miss Paula Butler He will then attend the U of U for 6 quarters to work on his Doctorate Joe Starr Is planning to work in Alaska on construction Connie Baker will be working at Comets and doing volunteer work at the OpCenter Mr James portunity Young will be working on displays at the State Capitol Building He will be working on the San Juan Grand Emery and Carbon Counties exhibit areas Ed Hogan is planning to work for Tooele County and attend Weber State College next fall Mr Donald Burge will attend the University of Southern California fulfilling more of his Doctorate requirements Mrs Mary Pizza rwill attend BYU to complete her Masters Degree John Merry Is going back to Indiana and work in a school bus factory Mrs Ardith Champlain will attend the U of U until the last of August She will travel to Washington where rite accepted Eagle Addition Nearing Completion : The Eagle addition for the CEU Marquee is coming along as planned It will be completed the first part of June The wing span will be eight feet wide according to Mr Jim Young He stated the Eagle will be chemically treated to make the welded steel look a bronze color that will be weather resistant Honor Grads Announced The twenty seventh graduating are Carolyn Falsone Marilyn Hin-ki- ns Janet Clerico and Janet class of College of Eastern Utah has eleven students who have Goudge Honor graduates with 35 grade achieved special scholastic merit averages or higher are point during their two years at CEU Nancy Robertson Wayne Mathis Tice Ashurst Graduating with high honors Karen Piccioni thus achieving an overall grade reggy Broadbent Pat Ferderber point average of 375 or above and Daniel Wagner Summer Schedule To be Released Next Week The Summer School schedule will be released Monday according to Lucile Jensen Registrar The Cosmetology Department stated their schedule will start June 7 1965 and continue through July 30 1965 Classes will run rom 7 am to 1 pm Beginning students may enroll with Lucile Jensen anytime prior to the beginning session of class work The LDS Institute of Religion will offer a class on Monday and Wednesday at 7 am Taught will be Theology 21 "Understanding he Scriptures" Instructor will be George Broschlnsky a position os assistant Professor of Education at the University of Washington Mr Neil Warren will attend either the U of U or another university and work more on his Doctorate Mr Laveil King will attend the U of U this summer Wayne Mathis Paul Barton Xm Hansen Steve Swascy and Steve Bunnell are all planning J5S Missions LITTLE MAN ON CAMPUS |
