Show Sandburg to Appear On Varsity Program Utah Symphony Orchestra Slated for Late January Appearance Carl Sandburg who celebrated his 81st birthday January 6 is to appear at the University of Utah February 20 Mr Sandburg was bom in Galesburg Illinois and now resides with his wife in Flat Rock North Carolina When asked why he chose to live in North Carolina he replied "The weather is mild —not January issue of "American Girl” Miss Balle a senior at Carbon High School had an article printed in the same magazine last year Night Adult Classes Begin At Carbon i New classes for adults began last week in the Carbon College evening school January 5 was set as the date for registration Elmo Geary director of adult education supervised registration and arranged for the organization of those classes enrolling the re-- i quired number of students In- struction in most of the classes began Thursday evening January 7 Hie courses will continue throughout the winter quarter and will be in the Carbon county area became evident last year when 313 men and women attended Carbon College evening classes earned a total of 1035 hours of credit and accounted for a largo percentage of the will stage its concert here under the sponsorship of Carbon College and Price City A reception is being planned under the direction of Mrs David Cox president of the Faculty Women's Club A meeting was held Friday and committees w’ere named from the Price women’s clubs to complete arrangements for the reception The popularity and renown of the Utah symphony has been increased steadily during the past decade but only a few concerts have been scheduled outside the d areas of Salt lakc Weber and Utah counties This year Price will join the growing list of cities where musical programs of major
