Show Carbon College Price Utah Monday Novombor 24 195S Volume 15 Number Carbon College Groups Present Program Price Civic Clubs Are Entertained With the separation of Carbon College from Carbon High it is hoped that the college enrollment will be doubled To publicize Car bon College a drive is underway Civic minded groups interested in Carbon's future have provided time for programs in which opportunities and offerings of the college can be explained Last week programs were presented to the New Century Club and the Woman’s Club The various numbers were presented to the audiences as they stepped out from a large volume of Carbon’s catalog It consisted of the following: testimonials Miss Mary Helen Bunnell and Neil Warren a tap and type rhythm number by Bonnie' Pace Joan Pitts and Brenda Migliaccio representing the business and physical education departments Writing in the form of poetry by high school and college students i II ‘ v' ' il from the 1957-5- 8 school magazine was read by Pat Savage representing the language and English departments Scott Potter gave an engineering-draftin- g demonstra- tion representing the exact sciences Mrs Avona Blackburn sang a vocal solo which represented the Practical Nursing department Don Steele did a modern dance representing the biological science field Mr Elmo Geary gave a reading for the speech arts Dr David R Cox spoke on the "Challenge of the Future” and the College a Cappclla Choir sang the "College Hymn” and their theme song James Pappas student body president acted as master of ceremonies and members of the Intercollegiate Knights served as ushers and stage managers The committee for the annual club affair was Janis Cox Dorothy Brown Gladys Mathis Florence Pitts and Velma Frandscn Preference Ball Slated for Early Date AWS Names Committee Chairmen The Associated Woman’s Students Council has circled Deccm- -
