Show Friday February 13 1948 Personally Yours BY JEANNINE CLARK Many boys are in a quandry as to what kind of corsages to buy for their girl when they take them to formal balls so in order to help them if I possibly can I'm dedicating this first article of a new series especially to them And in doing so I thought the best thing to do would be to go around and ask some of the girls what type of flowers they prefer Out of 50 senior high and junior college girls interviewed 16 liked just plain roses (red preferably) 9 chose plain gardenias and 8 would like gardenias and roses mixed or else they didn't have any preference as to the two of them 4 wanted pink Camillas some of which would like them 5 surrounded by tiny flowers no their had girls preference only comment was that it matched their formal and out of all the girls interviewed only 6 wanted orchids So you guys can see that roses and gardenias received the vole of approval for most girls even though a number of them dream of orchids But remember some gals are allergic to certain flowers and their gowns are allergic to some colors for instance: Red roses on a peach gown pink on pink or white on white (the gals want their flower to show up anyway) So before buying the corsage consult the girl as to the color of her gown and her allergies if any POOR US Getting out this paper is no picnic If we print jokes people say we are silly If we don’t they say we are too serious If we clip things from other papers we are too lazy to write them ourselves If we stick close to the job all the time We ought to be out hunting up news If we do go out and try to hustle We ought to be in the office If we can't print contributions We don't appreciate true genius And if we do print them the paper is filled with junk If we make a change in the other fellow’s write-u- p We are too critical If we don't we are asleep Now like as not some guys will say We swiped this from some paper THE WEEKLY CARBONICLE mm STRicTlV M iMFillEllliAl Kitty Kat MsjP Page Three FASHIONS By EVANGELINE PLATIS Look!
