Allow us to clarify our question By “They'1 we mean the Pi Gamma Chi So- - THE ALPINE SERVICE STATION North End of Helper Joe Ghxrardillx Manager rority And by the connotation “rate" we mean their use of a specially set aside room located in the upper West hall of the administration building Why should one organization be given special attention in the form of nothing more than a “club room"? Why isn't there a specially set aside room for every club or organization? True enough there may be an explanation for this but ' as we mentioned this is a letter of inquiry We the undersigned will welcome an answer to our question "How do they rate?" We urge the answer to be written in the open letter type from their advisor or any member of their sorority Curiously JOHN JONES and HELPER UTAH BOYD Helper Furniture Company With Stores in HELPER and PRICE Price FJELDSTED CAMPUS INN “The Friendly Little Come in and see our fine furniture and nationally known Spinet Pianos Utah Joinr EVERYTHING IS MADE TO YOUR TASTE J 0 JEWKES Price Friday February 13 1948 prop Utah By HARDY & JOHNSON What do you think about individuals or groups of students following the team? Is it right? Is it wrong? The following may answer these questions: Cnarh Garrett— "Groups and individuals should be allowed to accompany their teams on out of town games because of the fact that it establishes a closer union between schools between students and players and especially between the student body and the school administration in general'' Sooky Bryner — “I think it's swell It helps the morale of the team a lot and creates a better school spirit among all” Tony Welch— "I hate it They make too much noise anyway" t'oaih Jewkes — "So far the students of Carbon have done a good job by following their team 1 think they should be encouraged to continue Leon Lines — "School clubs should never be restricted from following athletic teams if they are under a competent advisor Among the many advantages are: (1) It allows the various clubs to participate in activities outside of the school (2) Activity of this type is in conjunction with the betterrelations ment of inter-scho(3) Promotes school club and athletic spirit (4) Adds to the restricted program for clubs and furnishes diversionary activity (5) It furthers keen competition and adds color and gaiety to athletic contests I think that a well planned program program by the school ad ministration to finance trips completely or partially for the clubs in school some time during the year would do a lot more for the betterment of Carbon college in advertisement of our school than returning vast sums of money back into the state coffers After all to make money or reputation always costs you in the initial investment but the return will come in large dividends So I say if the school will support the clubs they in turn will build the school" Duane Quinn— "I think groups are better The more the merrier!" Jimmy Lee— “I don't know and I don't care Doesn't make any difference to me” extra-curricu- lar ol High School days Have their delight But they can't compare With high school nights |
