Show i The Harald Journal Logan Utah Sunday July 20 1997 Pago36— Anniversaries Bairs' 50th The children of Shcrwin and Marian Bair would like to announce the SOth Wedding Anniversary of (heir parents They were honored bv their children in a family celebration for a week in Fairmont Mont There were six children and 14 grandchildren that attended TWo grandchildren were away at the time on a mission for our church Sherwin a son of Clifford and Violet Bair grew up in Lewiston and Richmond He worked with his father on farm lands until he left to go into the Navy on April 18 1943 Marian a daughter of John and Bertha Hurst was raised in Blanding Utah They met at Utah State University and were married July 13 1947 in the Logan LDS Temple After marriage they settled and lived in Richmond Utah and have lived there for 30 years Here they raised their children and were active in the LDS church and community Since retirement they have been going to Yuma A for the winter They are the parents of eight children along with their spouses: Catherine and Ken Walston of Tucson Az: Alana and Colin Jenkins of Clancy Mont: Joy and Gary Slone of Gilbert Az Ann and Dave Downs of Huntington Beach Calif: Ruth and Randy Bind nip of Tucson Az: David Bair of Plymouth Minn: Rex and Amy Bair of Boron Calif and Phillip and Christie Bair of Payson Utah They also have 17 grandsons seven granddaughters and three en Their children would like to express their love and admiration to their parents for staying in love and being the excellent examples that they are They have given us unselfish service and a nurturing environment in Logan High graduate to paraglide for national team Former Logan resident Mary Anne Karren a member of the US Paragliding Team and a 1992 graduate of Logan High School u representing the United Stales at the 1997 World Paragliding which to love learn and grow in Thank you Mom and Dad! family and friends there He says “My greatest treasure is my Farriers' 50th Beverly was barn and raised in Benson Ward to Leonard R and Jennie H Jensen Purser The oldest child growing up on a farm she milked cows (romped hay and thinned sugar beets Beverly The children and grandchildren L and Beverly Purser Famer invite friends and relatives to celebrate their SOth Wedding Anniversary An open house will be held on Saturday July 26 1997 from 4-- 6 pm at the North-woo- d Ward Building 123 E 300 North in Logan The pleasure of your company is all the gift they desire Tom and Beverly met in JJ of Thomas Newberry's in Ogden Utah where she was working as a soda fountain girl and he was working as a stock boy They were married in the Logan LDS Temple on July 28 1947 Tom was born and raised in Garden City Utah the son of John C and Loretta Cottle Farrier He graduated as an Ogden High Tiger in 1943 and served in World War II in the United States Navy Tom trained in his chosen profession at Ogden Beauty School He has been a hair stylist for 43 years owning several beauty salons in Logan Ogden and Idaho Tom currently owns manages and continues to style hair at the Exquisite Hair Fashions on 400 North in Logan Tom enjoys people and is known for his speaking ability and dedication in all he does Blessed with many years of service in the LDS Church he is currently serving as Slake Executive Secretary in the Cache Stake He has been a member of Toastmaster's International and is a member of the American Legion USU Post 12 His hobbies include sauare dancing horse shoes golf oil painting and deer hunting He likes to travel especially to Hawaii the Caribbean and Denmark! Tom and his children have built a recreation home in Garden City and often host Paragliding ChampKMixhip in Chelan Wash first in the women’s catego- ry at the 1997 Italy Anna Mum Mexican National Championship and is the top ranked woman in the United States A former manager of Totrcy Pines Glider Port in San Diego Calif she is an Advanced A Tandem Rated Paragliding Instructor She is currently an instructor at Air Play Paragliding School and ' Right Park in Cai the is Anne daughter of Leo Mary andhur attended North Cache High School and graduated from Ogden High School Beverly fed delicious lunches to children at the Edith Bowen Laboratory School for 22 years where she managed the kitchen for 12 of those years Beverly is known for her and the quiet charity she give to those around her Serving in many church callings she is presently serving as the Relief Society President of the 2nd Branch Beverly enjoys spending lime with her friends and family and attending cultural events She makes wonderful homemade pies and candy Bev- erly loves crocheting sewing line dancing square dancing and walking She always wants to know "Where does that rood go?" and then follows it to the end Beverly loves flowers and would rather be working in her garden than in the house She says "My grandchildren are the flowers of my life" Tom and Beverly are the par- ents of three children: Jeanie and Hazel Hendricks Nelson When she was 12 her mother died leaving her to assume much of the responsibility for her family Throughout her life she has always been there to meet the needs of others She graduated from Logan High School and attended USU She has been employed at CC Anderson the Budge Clinic Del Monte for Dr Hale of Preston and at Farm for 14 years She Pep-perid- ge has served in many positions in the LDS Chinch as Resident of the Preston Pink Ladies the President at the Preston Ladies Golf Association and can still be found several times a week eqjoying her passion for golf Keith was born to J Vera and Luella Baer Nielsen of Hyrum Utah He graduated from South Cache High and also attended a te course there While living in Hyrum he helped with post-gradua- the construction of the Hyrum Dun He lived and worked in Las also have 17 grandchildren and three was drafted in 1942 He served in the Air Force in the Asiatic Pacific Theater in World War II as a radio man and gunner and later was stationed at Gulfport Mississippi He played drams in a dance orchestra and has served in many positions in the LDS Church He has been a member of the American Legion Kiwanis Lions Club
