Dear Editor, I recently leamed of the flyers that have been circulating around town concerning one of Milford’s councilmen....Mark Dotson. I am appalled and I know many, many people who are appalled at the filth and degradation of this. It is beyond me how anyone with any morals or any regard for another’s feelings could do something like this. Did they ever consider what this is doing to Mark’s wife and three children? Not to mention Mark himself. So they don’t agree with his business practices, or maybe they don’t like him....they have no right to degrade him publicly and hurt his family the way they have. They should have the courage to tell him face to face and leave it at that. You can bet Mark wouldn’t resort to this kind of sleazy tactic if he had a problem with someone. I have known Mark all my life, and I know that if there were ever someone who needed any type of assistance, and he had the resources to help, Mark would be the first one there to lend a hand. He is a good person, a good husband, and a good father who is trying to do what he thinks is best for your city. Whether or not he makes the “right” decisions all the time is neither here nor there. The real issue here is that no one deserves this type of treatment. I’m sure a public apology would be asking way too much, but at last the next time they decide to do something like this - think about how they and their family would feel if this kind of attack was launched on them. One more thing to the person who is responsible - if you do decide to continue your vendetta against Mark, I hope you are caught and prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Sincerely, Cindy Wiseman Dear Editor: Last night I had the pleasure of attending the Milford High School Choir and Milford Memorial Handbell concert at Milford High School. It prompted me to write this letter because of the outstanding performance of those involved. The only complaintI would have is it was not long enough. I would like to commend the organizers, participants and most especially Susan Jensen for producing such ; wonderful performance. Nedra Kennedy Blk Ranching The Utah Farm Bureau Federation is urging the Utah Legislature to authorize ranchers to raise domestic elk as an alternative agriculture enterprise. UFBF President Ken Ashby said, “The livestock industry in Utah could benefit from an additional enterprise alternative, especially in this time of extremely low cattle prices. Some farmers and ranchers in Utah would like to begin raising elk for an expanding market for the velvet from elk antlers which is widely used in the orient, and we believe they should have that opportunity.” Ashby said|the delegates to the recent Utah Farm Bureau Annual meeting in November said they are supportive of the legislative proposal to give the Utah Department of Agriculture authority to regulate such activities, but cautioned that any bill should contain strong safeguards to insure disease control, genetic purity of wild populations, proper animal identification, containment, and humane handling, to protect domestic livestock and the wild populations of elk. “We. believe, and the State Veterinarian has confirmed, that raising of elk on farms and ranches can be done safely and not endanger either domestic livestock or the wild populations,” Ashby said. This is not just another opportunity for the livestock industry to benefit from wildlife, but represents an opportunity for the public to see and enjoy these magnificent animals in an environment that is friendly to all.” The legislature will debate a bill, already drafted and considered by| the Interim Committee on Energy, 413 S.
