Duties include _ processing emergency calls, complaints and requests for help; relaying information to appropriate authorities; monitoring law enforcement and emergency radio calls; proving radio backup as needed; handling sensitive issues in a highly confidential manner, calming callers in authorities arrive; activities crisis until monitoring of inmates; and’ other duties as assigned. This position can be very stressful at times of emergencies, and may expose candidate to foul language and obscene behavior or gestures. Training Requirements: This position requires extensive training, which includes: approximately 10-weeks training at Fred House Correctional Training Academy in Salt Lake; approximately 40 hours training in basic dispatching; and training in emergency medical dispatch.
