50th The children of W Wayne and Faye S Waite are honoring their parents for their 50th Saturday LDS Ward pm All friends and relatives are invited no invitations are being sent The family requests no gifts The Waites have lived in Hyde Park all their married life Mr Waite retired from the US Dept of Agriculture as a research technician with 23 years of service Before that he e worked as a farmer and mink rancher For 17 years he drove a school bus for the Cache County School District He has been active in the LDS Church serving as Elder's Quorum president Young Mens president and serving 25 years with the Boy Scouts of America He has served in four High Priest group leaderships He has been active in all sports He rode 10 years in the Logan City mounted police possee He is a lover of good horses and is a breeder of registered Quarter Horses and registered paints Mrs Waite has also been active in the LDS Church She has taught in the Sunday School Mutual Improvement and the Relief Society She was a teacher and in the presidency of the primary for 17 years She sews crochets knits makes full-tim- has composed many poems and stories She faithfully keeps a journal and has written a detailed life history The Waites have three children: Marie W LeFevre Franklin Idaho Dr Wenden W Waite Meridian Idaho and Preston Jay Waite Waldorf Md They have 12 grandseven boys and five children girls Binghams' 60th Howard W and Edith F Bingham celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary July 14 witt their family They are former residents of Garland and have lived in Logan for the past 11 years Mr Bingham has been a farmer all his life He first started farming in Ogden then later moved to Garland in 1935 and farmed there until they moved to Logan They have been active in various organizations in the LDS Church and have fulfilled e two missions together first in New Mexico and then in North and South Carolina The Binghams are parents of n 13 children and have 70 42 and Utah State University She won the cash award for a paper dealing with the Cardon Jewelry watch repair business during the last 10 yesrs of the nineteenth century “At first I didn't think looking at business ledgers would be very interesting but it actually was" said Allen who graduated magna cum laude this spring and was named outstanding senior in the history department She compared transactions in 1889 and 1899 noting watch repair costs as well as the prices and number of watches sold She also read about Logiu in Leonard Arrington’s “Great Basin Kingdom" and studied advertising in the Utah Journal predecessor of the Logan Herald and Lucille Eskelson anniversary Tuesday They were married in the Logan LDS Journal In her paper Allen says watches were Temple July 22 1936 Their children will honor them witt a important not just as timepieces but as status of the family dinner and gathering symbols as well The economic crunch 1890s was evident to Allen when she studied the as a teacher first counselor and president and served on the LDS Stake board She has served as second counselor in the Relief Society They are the parents of seven children: Leslie D Smithfield Richard D Hyde Park LeRoy 1915 and Voilet Eskelson Smithfield D Bremerton Vanoy Wash John Mrs D John (Bonnie) Godfrey Smithfield Jerry D High Creek Their youngest son Terry D was killed in a tractor
