Show missionary iRY LETTER mont aug 17 1917 editor box elder news we thought a few lines from the missionaries here in the fort peck indian reservation bould be of 0 interest 0 to o the readers of tile lie news it is ia not that we do not appreciate the news that we written before it is welcome mail to us we read it anice a week ihen alien ue ke can get to tho the post office after it but we live five miles out in tile hie country so we dont always get it that often we have been traveling through the reservation the last month we ve met with a great many indians bofill of all classes some are living like white people in nice homes which are furnished up to date but still there are some not quite so advanced but blit are still pushing onward they received us very kindly and we had many good gospel conversations with them we have been out on four trips having been gone about 21 days and traveled miles by team and sold 40 copies of the book of mormon and 20 smal looks books also distributed tracts on the way we camped one night in canada anil and h hid held id a cottage meeting while there the lord is surely blessing this people opening the ill way for a great N work ork to be done it takes patience and courage to labor among such people we were just favored with a visit from conference president A W crane from butte and elder everett Robb robbing lils or of great falls while they were here bre we went oil a visit east to brockton Mon montana tiina they spent nine days here on the reservation we ve are re looking forward to a visit brow rose president ballard allard il soon ile he is co coining g to see about the school which 1 is to b be e opened next month elder C E riddle of escalante utah who is laboring here with us ex peets pacts to teach the school this winter with best wishes to all elders Kl ders SARAH A PACKER IDA C from Coni ine |
