S Rux both bothof bothof of Salt Lake City ity Mr who served as one of f the narrators for the Mormon Miracle tape has been involved with speech and drama for most of his life He was associated with radio as an announcer actor producer and writer for many years He worked In network network network net net- work radio and television for sometime sometime performing with Lionel Lionel Barrymore Tyrone Power Walter Brennan Frank Sinatra and other well-known well personalities Mr has been a private teacher of speech and drama in Utah since 1937 and now has his own studio He has appeared in 10 motion pictures which were produced for the Church by Brigham Young University Among his roles have been that of Lorenzo Snow in Windows Windows Windows Win dows of Heaven the grandfather grandfather grandfather grand grand- father In Mans Search For Happiness and Mr Harris in Johnny Lingo For more than 18 years he was a member of the General Board Mrs Rux served as director of the 1970 presentation of the Mormon Miracle pageant She also served as a t narrator on the tape produced for the pageant earlier this year She has been a performer director and producer in radio television and the legitimate theater She has appeared with such stars as Loretta Young Raymond Burr and Victor Jory She was a member of the Pasadena Playhouse Company managing director of the Valley Community Theater and drama director for an NBC radio sta sta- tion Since returning to Utah Mrs Rux has had roles in many Uni University of Utah plays among them Major Maor Barbara My Fair Lady the The Unsinkable Unsinkable able Molly Brown She has produced and directed direct direct- ed for educational television and was formerly a consultant to the United States Office of Education Other programs arranged for forthe forthe forthe the 71 1970 lyceum series are November 2 George erman bassoonist December 14 Ensign 14 Chorus Dr Merrill Wilson conductor January 11 BYU Philharmonic Philharmonic Philharmonic monic Orchestra Dr Ralph Laycock conductor February 8 BYU Faculty String Orchestra Dr Harold Goodman conductor March 8 Carolyn Olsen Welling lyric soprano April 12 Lynn Dean pianist May 10 V night with Barbara Barton Melba Armstrong Armstrong Armstrong Arm Arm- strong Boyd Goble and Montel Green Richard Nibley chairman of the lyceum programs noted that thata a season ticket can be purchased for all eight events for only 10 Admission price for each event will be for adults 75 for students and 50 for senior citizens Reservations may be made by calling Snow College at |
