The labeling also warns that ipecac syrup should not be used if strychnine corrosives such as lye and strong acids or petroleum distillates such as kerosene gasoline paint thinner or cleaning fluid have been ingested FDA is proposing that ipecae syrup be marketed in containers of one ounce or less The recommended dose for infants under one is one to two teaspoons followed by a half to a fun glass of water and for children over one and adults one tablespoon followed by one to two glasses of water The dose should be repeated if vomiting does not occur in 20 minutes If the secood dose fails to induce vomiting the advice of a physician should be sought in-da- ce g mmi life-savin- Winchester -
