Show SOUTH SHORTS I Mr and Mrs Clifford Peterson Peterson Peterson Peter Peter- son and Mr and Mrs Clifford Jorgenson enjoyed a six-day six trip to Canada r recently They left July 24 for Yellowstone Park where they visited In the Quake Lake area and report that It Is still very Impressive They drove from there to KalIspell Kalispell Kalispell Kal- Kal Montana and then stopped stopped stopped stop stop- ped at Glacier National Park where they enjoyed a ride aride on the famed Going to the Sun high high- way In Cardston Alberta Can Canada ada they visited the beautiful Canadian Temple and drove from there through Calgary to Banff which has become strictly strict strict- ly a resort city There they enjoyed a ride in a Gondola cable car high up the mountain and were glad that it got them safely up and back According to Mrs Peterson it was a sorry sight indeed particularly in the resort area to see so many young people mostly teenagers some who looked to be very young teens sleeping in the parks who had gone north to Banff in the summer summer summer sum sum- mer and who would probably migrate south with the birds when colder weather comes She said that it is quite another an another another an- an other thing to see hundreds of hippies congregated In one place than It is to read about it in the newspaper The great human tragedy of wasting lives seemed very evident The Ephraim folk drove north to beautiful Lake Louise in the heart of the massive Canadian and from there 77 miles further north to see the vast blue Columbia Ice Fields Here they stopped and chipped at the ancient Ice and said It broke up looking like rare diamonds Coming back through Lake Louise country they stopped at Kootenay Park near the US U.S. Canadian border and came home through Coeur dAlene and Idaho Falls Idaho where they took pictures of the beautiful beautiful beautiful beau beau- temple grounds and the falls In the Snake River there In Ogden they visited with Jorgenson's daughter LaRae and her husband Tony Distefano Distefano Distefano Diste- Diste fano and in Midvale with Lorraine Lorraine Lorraine Lor Lor- raine and Morris Young and family Monday August 3 Mary Lee Green departed from Salt Lake airport on a stop non-stop flight for New York City for a tentative week three-week visit with her brother Jim Green his wife Louise and baby daughter Marah Montel her father Im Immediately Immediately immediately Im- Im mediately phoned Louise who said she would pick her up upon on arrival Mary telephoned home at pm p.m. to say that she was still alive had had a fried chicken dinner on the plane and that the plane had arrived atthe at atthe atthe the Kennedy Airport at pm p.m. EST Instead of pm p.m. per the schedule So she was four and a half hours Jim is a physicist for IBM mM Research and Is attending New NewYork NewYork NewYork York University studying for his doctorate in Solid State Physics Louise has been a secretary and attended Columbia sity Since Jim Is a grammar purist Mary Indicated a desire to replace slang with proper language while away from home Larry Moore young son of Prof and Mrs T.
